These kids are high schoolers and the first singer is their choir director. Much of his job is to show off each of his students and let each one shine a bit for their families. These kids graduate out of the choir.

While Musicality is a youth choir (in Chiacago), for this particular video they invited back many past graduates to join with the current choir for this song. (The description of the original vid says this). So they're not all high school students in this one. Still very impressive nonetheless. I was obsessed with Musicality vids for a while and I am fairly sure that the people you see at the beginning of the song were the current choir (+ staff), and the people who walk in later and join the song were the past graduates who had been invited back.

Thank you Marc for your review and comments of my son’s group “Musicality”! Michael created this version as a ten year reunion video if memory serves me! Every one of these singers had to meet tough criteria to be part of the group and as you heard, they’re all incredibly great! Michael has continued Musicality as best as can be expected during this pandemic and if you haven’t reached out to him personally, you should! Again thank you for your review and kind commentary!

Greatest Showman is a guilty pleasure for me. I love this number, except where Jackman's palpably straining at the song's high notes, so seeing it here performed in this key and with such a talented soloist -- and the wonderful blended array of styles by the group -- is perfect to me. I had never heard of Musicality and so I thank you for my continuing education. on your channel. There is something warm, and comforting with darker heavier voices and I am particularly drawn to the warmth and lullaby quality of a fine mezzo soprano. Anyway, this ensemble was able to feature some strong solo performances and when combined as a chorus the effect can be chilling...in a positive way. Marc, your emotional reactions are what I love about your videos and what it conveys about who you are. No need to ever apologize. Thank you as always.

I know this is an older video and you probably won't see this, but I just wanted to say please don't be embarrassed about crying on camera. It's so raw and genuine to see how music can move someone to tears, and it gives us that window into someone's heart and emotions. As an audience, it's so relatable for us to see that; we want to see that vulnerability because it helps us connect to the person we're watching.

Thanks so much Sophia I appreciate that. I think the part that annoys me about it is how easily I can tear up, just at the simplest of things. And over the years its only gotten worse - getting softer in my older age. 🥲

These guys were also on AGT and their story is amazing. I love these kids that fight through the toughest times and come out out of it a shining light. The Guy singing in the beginning actually lead/directed the group while he was still in high school with the same kids he performed with because their school cut "The Arts" programs. So they made their own choir and held practice in an empty stairwell/hallway.
