I remember goung to see the Statler Brothers when i was a kid. After the show they would come back out to take pictures and sign autographs. They would just hang out with everyone. I still have a picture i had taken with Harold. 45 yrs later. Still listen to them.

I was talking to my mom and younger brother and sister last night. They happened to see one of their shows here in Wisconsin years ago. They said when the concert was over nobody would leave and they came back like 4-5 times to do encores, close to a full extra hour and even then people wanted more. Such a class act, what a privilege we had to have them sing and play for us. Thank you Statler’s for entertaining us all those years!

The ending of an era. With Harold gone, what I wouldn’t give to shake Don’s hand and have him sign my 8 track of theirs that my grandfather gave me years ago. And also the Bible story vinyl records my dad had. Dad and Pappy are gone now, but I still play the old 8 track occasionally for good times. Im only 40, and Ive been listening to The Statlers since I was a kid!

I hope you gals have room for a guy in here.... just finished watching / listening to the first 67 of these videos.... and cried through most all of them. What I loved and respected most about them... besides their songs and great talent together, was their steadfastness in their marriages and their faith in the Lord/God of Scripture..... and if I may, I would definitely like to add George Straits name to that, as well. Your right, they were an end to a wonderful era.... that is now lost forever, very sadly. Blessings to each of you.. Num.6:24-26

As a high school senior, I saw the Statler Brothers and Barbara Mandrell concert. after the concert, Barbara and the guys came back to the stage to shake hands, sign autographs and pose for photos. Lew said he struck his ‘sexy’ pose for my camera. I could only afford to purchase one photo and had to choose Barbara’s, but Harold, after giving me a good natured ribbing, also signed the photo. You don’t see that much today. Saw them a couple more times through the years. These guys loved their fans and were loved right back. Also was lucky enough to see their farewell concert, which was a blast. Miss seeing them in concert and a little piece of me died along with Harold and Lew. Best to their families.
