Don’t Stop Believing has been selected into the Library of Congress National recording Registry 2022. Recordings that have made a impression in society- can’t remember exactly how they worded it,, but the end of April the song was inducted into the honorable National Library for 1000 years. One of my favorite Journey songs is “Lights”. Most everyone has a Journey song they like. Their songs were always part of our school dance line up, and hearing it and seeing the group back when I was in high school sure brings the nostalgia back! Steve Perry has an incredible range and is one of the most recognized voices in ‘80’s music.

Open Arms, Separate Ways (Worlds Apart), Who's Crying Now, When You Love a Woman, Send Her My Love, Lights, Mother Father (use the video from the same 1981 Houston concert), Any Way You Want It, and Wheel in the Sky (pay close attention to the other-wordly note Steve hits during Neal's guitar solo... a lot of people miss it, and think it's a musical instrument, when it is actually Steve's voice). Chain Reaction and Still They Ride are also excellent! You can't go wrong with anything from Journey. Also check out a couple of Steve's songs from his first solo album... Oh Sherrie, and Foolish Heart. They are still touring, but Steve left the band in the mid 90's.

Right? Back in the 80s we used to have something called the Super Bowl of rock that was done at the Tangerine Bowl in Orlando. I got to see Journey in that playoff! They ended up playing three times but lost to the Scorpions! You camped out, got nine bands, (three bands a day for 3 days for $9 a day). It was called a "Lo-Do Show"!
