Boeing 707 .... The Cadillac of the skies back in the day ..... sleek and beautiful in design

i have goosebumps all over at the sound of those engines still....it sends me right back to my first flight in a jet liner the Boeing 707...it shaped my whole world of my love of commercial aircraft travel....you never forget your first especially when it was a euphoric experience...I can never forget the king of commercial aircraft...the king of the skies.

That's true I also will never forget these memories of me trying to catch planes with my camera when I was a Teenager. The 707 is just a classic and will have a place in my hearth for ever :)

Now anyone please tell me...listen to the ringout of those quad engines at thrust....is there any other jetliner that sings a euphoric song like that...truly the king of the skies...only the ace (concord) and the Queen (747) have their places in the top trio... everyone else are worthy only to bow out...don't talk about these modern flying busses they have now...they are first grade commoners.

It really was a magic carpet ride, complete with gourmet food and beautiful flight attendants. I felt very special and I was humbled by the experience. It felt like the next level , above our daily experience. A world all mankind should aspire to… one of kindness, generosity and grace

I love how the engine are so responsive the second the pilots apply power the engine gives power
@starpawsy
@starpawsy Жыл бұрын
Yes, the older low-bypass turbofans are more responsive than the modern high-bypass ones. Because the modern ones have fans that are so so so much bigger, they dont accelerate as fast.

I lived on Tinker AFB from 1988-2002....this, along with the fighter jets, is the sound of freedom. Touch and go;s, and when Stratotankers and bombers coming in, each time these jets would bank right or left over Lake Thunderbird (south), car alarms would be set off all day long on base. Love it, and miss it.

I have a total of ONE flight on a 707. It was supposed to be a DC-10, and TWA changed aircraft at the last minute. Sure glad they did!

Used to play poker with a retired airline pilot who flew the 707, and later the A300 , A310 and 737-400... he always said the Boeing's were way more fun to fly manually!

This is beautiful, particularly the engine sounds. Look at how low to the ground the cockpit is as it rolls before rotation, as compared to a 747 which has a cockpit that is much higher elevation above the gound. Thanks for uploading. Fantastic job NATO!

Excellent video, thanks for posting. Nothing will ever replace classics like the B707 and the B727. They were/are true workhorses. I noticed that the crew in this clip were multi-national? German captain, British co-pilot, and not sure about the rest.

any one noticed the landing gear, After positive climb the landing gear was put up and then it was put to the Half Position. Why is this?
@AirClipscom

Rohit Aswath That's weird in dęte and Airbus doesn't have that at all. If I remember right this is to "lock" the gear.
