I grew up in the grunge era. It and the classical music I was learning were the foundation of my musical journey. Smashing Pumpkins are great. I don't listen to that type of music much these days, it's mostly metal and jazz type stuff, but I have many great memories of my youth with the Pumpkins as the soundtrack.

Somehow part of comment got deleted. I was also saying that Lamb of God are all from my area (near Richmond, VA). The Adler brothers went to Lafayette High which my high school plays in football. They've never left Richmond and are such generous and strong pillars for the local scene. Randy Blythe still regularly makes cameo appearances at smaller shows in the area and shares the stage doing vocals with the band currently playing. Like just imagine you're and up and comer and Randy goddamn Blythe pops up offering to hype up the crowd and rock out with you. There's a nonzero chance you could, tonight, go to a show in Richmond and happen to see Randy. Such a solid dude and an incredibly deep thinker. The scene around here has been incredibly lucky to have LoG for so long. Also this band has the metal cheat code I always refer to of having specifically a guitarist and drummer brother duo. The level of tightness and intricacy to riffing coming out of these outfits is just unfair due to the familiarity of played off each other and pushed each other to greater and greater heights of skill their entire lives. See also the Morgan brothers of Misery Signals. It's such a rock solid foundational core to have in a band that is always apparent after you find out. Like "there's something different about this band's tightness, particularly their live performances" and after you're like "oooohhhh guitar/drummer brother duo of course "

I can't recommend enough the song "Reclaimation" off of the "Wrath" album. Encompasses some of the best by the lineup from these years of Lamb of God (not taking anything away from Art Cruz). For me, it's one of the few songs (ever) where my mind was instantly filled with images that fit the music and lyrics. Like a mental music video. Always looking forward to the videos you two share! As a musically illiterate moron who doesn't have a clue about time signatures or any other technical musical things, I always thought Chris Adler's drum performance on this album was something special even if I'm too stupid to understand why. I know in metal land productions/mixes are often pretty divisive and a lot of people don't like the "clean" sound but I always thought this album sounded great too.
