I'll be honest. When first clicked this vid, I thought I might use some of these frames. But while watching this, I thought up some other possible frames I could try.

Just as a reminder for everyone: If anyone does full on copy a design, it is not wrong, but if you do, maybe give some credit. There is a difference between using a piece of one design and copying the skeleton of a MOC. People "steal" ideas all the time when it comes to little techniques, but when you copy a full portion of someone else's build, show some humility.

I feel as long as you aren't posting a MOC using someone elses techniques online saying "I created this and it was all my idea" it isn't too bad. If the MOC is just for your personal collection it's not wrong.

I honestly wish Lego just released a persistent constraction line with no other theme than "here's a bunch of parts and they can be used to make this shape, but this is basically just a parts pack" It'd avoid the "yearly wave" obligation by virtue of just having no theme beyond just providing parts, which I think Lego should honestly do with not just CCBS but the bricks and technic as well. It would make it so much less of a hassle to just jump into building when the actual parts are readily accessible on store shelves, with the themed sets still having a niche as they would get more unique and exclusive parts.

>Be me >Seven, in 2008 youtube >See bionicle I like >Can’t find instructions (no one bothered to at this time) >spent time studying how the moc looked, listing what pieces what I have >beg parents for certain bionicles at the time that had the parts I was looking for >years later found my moc I was imitating, decided to finish it >Tfw youtube copyright striked the video for using ThreeDaysGrace/BreakingBenjamin/LinkinPark/Evanscene, so now I cant finish it because I have no idea what the original one looked like... >Now I have a good frame and design to steal cos no one knows it was from Good times...

This has reinforced (ironic) an important lesson I've been trying to remember while I start making more complicated mocs as an AFOL - a frame is structurally necessary as scale increases! We can see that in so many large bionicle and system official sets, and I'm trying to incorporate that engineering knowledge into my creative lego side!

You didn't even really need to be a 'salesman' in order to convince me to consider using a bignicle frame. I thought I'd make something using that design the moment I saw it in Wombat's last video.

I'm trying to make a Bioformer and it's irritating how difficult to work out it is, I'm not stock hugely on parts either, the style I wanna use the exo skeleton of Hakann and the head of a Lego Vikings Red Dragon but to do that I need a Torso that van change shape without disassembly, do any of these even work for a bioformer

@BenCossyOfficial
@BenCossyOfficial 5 жыл бұрын
Put pistons in the legs and other parts of the body to help act as an additional layer of support. Otherwise doubling up on connections can help depending on how you've made the MOC (Black Phantom and Witch Doctor do this where they use two layers of CCBS bones.) Or you can add less armor so things are more lightweight. And if it still does't work, nothing wrong with some cheeky trans clear stands to help support stuff.
