I'll be honest. When first clicked this vid, I thought I might use some of these frames. But while watching this, I thought up some other possible frames I could try.

Just as a reminder for everyone: If anyone does full on copy a design, it is not wrong, but if you do, maybe give some credit. There is a difference between using a piece of one design and copying the skeleton of a MOC. People "steal" ideas all the time when it comes to little techniques, but when you copy a full portion of someone else's build, show some humility.

I feel as long as you aren't posting a MOC using someone elses techniques online saying "I created this and it was all my idea" it isn't too bad. If the MOC is just for your personal collection it's not wrong.

I honestly wish Lego just released a persistent constraction line with no other theme than "here's a bunch of parts and they can be used to make this shape, but this is basically just a parts pack" It'd avoid the "yearly wave" obligation by virtue of just having no theme beyond just providing parts, which I think Lego should honestly do with not just CCBS but the bricks and technic as well. It would make it so much less of a hassle to just jump into building when the actual parts are readily accessible on store shelves, with the themed sets still having a niche as they would get more unique and exclusive parts.

This has reinforced (ironic) an important lesson I've been trying to remember while I start making more complicated mocs as an AFOL - a frame is structurally necessary as scale increases! We can see that in so many large bionicle and system official sets, and I'm trying to incorporate that engineering knowledge into my creative lego side!

@BenCossyOfficial5 жыл бұрын
Put pistons in the legs and other parts of the body to help act as an additional layer of support. Otherwise doubling up on connections can help depending on how you've made the MOC (Black Phantom and Witch Doctor do this where they use two layers of CCBS bones.) Or you can add less armor so things are more lightweight. And if it still does't work, nothing wrong with some cheeky trans clear stands to help support stuff.
