It feels like Ice Planet 2012 or something - modern but classic at once

So glad the moc was covered as I have wanted to see more an of this! The pictures Harrisbricks took were fantastic but wish I could have popped across the ditch to see it.

I would love to go to one of these, and I would also love to showcase some of my stuff, but I'm never truely happy with what I've made. Not in a "I HATE IT!" type way, but in a "It's good, but it can be better" way. I'm always adding and removing little details, or even just ripping off arms and legs. One time I made a mech torso, with a cockpit, armor paneling everywhere, and some Invasion From Below egg nest pieces on the back as an infection. But when I added the arms, it never quite looked proportional. And don't get me started on trying to make some working legs. They were either too long, too short, too thin, or too bulky. So I had to just ripped out the heart of my MOC, and I;m working on rebuilding it. THIS IS THE SECOND TIME I'VE HAD TO DO THIS!

Lego really should do another Ice Planet run. Obviously can't call it 2002, unless that number doesn't refer to the year...

Lego are at the best with their own themes and creativity rather than licensed sets such as Star Wars or Marvel as good as those particular themes are, Ice Planet is a good example of the genius of those Lego designers.

2002 is the name of the planet

Ice planet could definitely get another run. Lego may be dropping a hint to that effect with the recent CMF. It would also be a great opportunity to reintroduce trans neon orange back into the mix.

Amazing video. Great to see a high level breakdown of this incredible build🫡

This Moc is insanely good and creative, no doubt, but I never imagined Ice Planet to be post apocalyptic! Scifi back then was really positive, like Star Trek TNG, this doesn't feel right!

I feel like the plant pieces are a tad.. out-of-place.

I agree visually, but in reality Arctic does have some plants

The way I see it. If you notice, most of the figs have their helmets off/no oxygen tanks, plus the post apoc setting suggets it's a LONG time sonce 2002. I assume the planet has been terraformed/altered enough where plantlife can grow and oxygen is produced naturally. Though still at a small scale, enough to support a few 100 people or so

Its kinda funny how it feels like 20k of the pieces just went into the terraforming

I have to say i don´t like the Olive green bushes, i would have gone for blue ones, indicating they are frozen. HOWEVER we don´t really know the builders inspiration and storyline here. To me, it feels like there was a nuclear war on the Ice planet and it´s slowly beginning to warm up, hence the vegetation and decayed look. Also color palette wise, the olive green works well with the other earth tones like brown. So i dislike the color choice but i can still support it and taste is taste. As long as i can understand the choice i applaud it. And the world building here is 10/10.
