My friends and I visited Crete in 2016, off tourist season. It was beautiful and relaxing. We rented a car and drove around the coast, made stops, tasked freshly made food. Great memories and I wish I can go back there now.

The best publicity documentary that I ever saw, by far! Really enjoyable: the description has a good rhythm, the subject is fascinating, the imagines are hypnotic. What can I say? A pleasant program to watch during a raining afternoon while I m sick and - maybe - time again to program the next trip to the Megalo - Island.

I was sitting in a small village in Italy my future wife walked in I was dirty unshaven or clean . I bought a ticket to Kriti so did her and her gf. I had enough just to get there get drunk on ozo and restina a wine. Got to port took a bus to maltala was going to hang out and bum money from Europeans on Vaca. She got on my bus I had no idea if she was going where I was. I got there notice she got off to with friend. I headed for a part of the beach where no one was at. The Greek people took to me I always looked like I needed a drink or meal. At night all went to a place on the beach to party. They all bought me drinks all night yep she shows up with friend. Both were blonde foxes she saw me had a few shots of ouzo we shared one it was all,over for me as back in Italy when I was sitting on the floor looked up saw her glow I wanted to be with her forever. I got up from the party dancing with Men and girls regular Greek male thing just took off down to the beach all of a sudden a arm was around me it was her. She wanted me like I her. All I remember was waking up naked with her naked. We both had north face bags that zipped together that was amazing in itself. We hung out in Greece to Italy ,Germany ,Switzerland then met up in London to find work we did. Ended up in north Afrika broke both of us got amebic dysentery flew back home worked daddies clothing store up on Mackinac Island Michigan. Six years working together killed the marriage. All I could think of was the Greek island an how it got all screwed up. We divorced that was that. Eighteen months in Europe great love life six years in the US killed it. I love the Greek people.

Disappearance of Minoans not so debated anymore: Santorini erupted. They knew it was about to erupt and tried to escape but we now know that pyroclastic flows can literally walk on water. They couldn't have rowed fast enough and you *cannot* outrun, hide from or survive pyroclastic flows. Some travel faster than sound and are up to 2000 Centigrade. VEI 7 eruptions cause global changes. Originally rated at a VEI of 6, now upgraded to VEI of 7 and contributed to the Biblical plagues (except for hte first born killing thing). The geology is fascinating. You can tell which islands were formed from older eruptions and which are from more recent eruptions. Either way the amount of material ejected was huge based on the cliff heights. Probably don't want to climb around too much on the newer ones - the edges will still be jagged and sharp. Also like the snow covered ones. I'd live atop one of those. It's not as hospitable as other locales. p.s. Santorini will erupt again. It will likely devastate the region again. Enjoy these sights before it creates new ones.
@TinyEpics Жыл бұрын
Well Crete was their base, and Santorini was a Cycladic outpost of Crete with its own unique culture. The Minoan Cretans certainly survived the eruption, as the archaeological record shows and they were more than 140km removed from the tiny island of Thera (Santorini). But the tsunami resulting from the eruption is believed to have decimated the Cretan fleet and coastal towns which contributed of course to their demise (crop failure, weakened political power), until finally a couple of centuries later the Mycenaen Greeks took over and established themselves on Knossos for a couple of centuries before they were wiped out in the great Bronze Age collapse (which was rather unrelated to the Theran eruption altogether). Also, many prominent archaeologists suggest a dynastic fusion between the weakened Minoans and the Mycenaen mainlanders. They didn’t disappear. They were absorbed into a culture on the rise. The Therans, on the other hand, are likely to have died on the sea journey from Thera to Crete (again, the tsunami). Makes sense, as they left in time before the great explosion, but a journey to Crete by boat back then couldn’t outrun the resulting tsunami. It seems they may have left the island after being frightened by the first convulsions, many days before the explosion even occurred.

Crete was the birthplace of Western Civ and can be that yet again. We need our Minoan Cretan ancestors and the secrets by which their advanced and mostly peaceful society kept any individual from holding too much power. Explore their ancient spiritual ways in "Calendar House" at Ancientlights.org. PEACE!

How ridiculous is that if only the pure can see the one step of gold and sinners can't ..that would make you sinless which means you would have to be perfect literally ..and we all know the only sinless person to walk the earth perfectly was Jesus.. all the folklore is sinful in itself smh

He it is That has made you inheritors in the earth: if, then, any do reject (Allah), their rejection (works) against themselves: their rejection but adds to the odium for the Unbelievers in the sight of their Lord: their rejection but adds to (their own) undoing.
