I love that they both basically made their D&D characters. Jane's going around blasting everyone with magic, and Andy's wielding a sword and sneaking around the guards.

I actually focused on swords and magic. The game does a decent job of letting you mix and match abilities. Also sneaking around enemies during some missions can help you. There was a quest where i had to rescue people from a rival faction. Well you go to the compound to try to secure their release well they don't let you into the village. So you can either attack or find another way in and sneak your way in. Well i went and sneaked in and didn't kill any enemies and released the hostages. In a different quest when I came back and had to speak to them they actually listened to me because I hadn't killed any of their people when I rescued the hostages from the other quest. They commented on the fact that I hadn't killed anyone previously.

If there's going to be a game based on this era, I think what we really need is one where you are one of the colonized, not the colonizer. There is so much potential there: trying to figure out the invaders' motives; trying to ally with former enemies to drive off the invaders; risking allying with the invaders to expand your own peoples' power among your neighbors/enemies. There could still be exploration lighting up new parts of your map as you travel to neighbors to get help, or follow the invaders to see what they are doing.

Yup you can romance but it doesn't happen until later in the game after you do some of your companions personal quests. My female character romanced the female native Siora.

I really like Greedfall so far! Not as far as I'd like though. Been working on my companion missions mostly. I really like all the side quests and choices you can make with them. Trying to be neutral in most factions though. Had to lie a few times. It's good though. I love the mechanics and multiple choices of mission roles

Fyi, Siora and Vasco can be romanced by both Male and female De Sardet characters, Kurt and Aphra are both heterosexual options only and, while you can hit on companions almost right away, they only respond positively after you've done 3 loyalty quests and when you've gotten to 'Friendly' status. I've played about 20+ hours so far and I really love it.
