Greedy Mini Cooper Dealership…Overpriced Junk

In this video, we are going to walk around a mini Cooper dealership and see if they have any additional markup and addendum stickers and see what the prices are because I’ve never been to a mini Cooper dealership before another greedy dealer alert unfortunately unfortunately none of this is financial advice.

Every since Mini Cooper got bought by BMW, they were complete plastic fantastic junk. The top of the line "John Works" turbo model used to be in the $30,000 dollars. No more. I get that some people really like their unique looks, but they are wicked expensive to repair. I can't tell you how many women i have met that own these cars and when I tell them that most repairs will be over $1,500 - They start to freak. They sell them on good looks but the quality control is horrible. Good luck with those addendums.

These are the first vehicles I’ve seen on your channel that added ceramic tint… but I still don’t like it when they add things on. Not everyone wants dark windows like that. I get ceramic tint put on my cars but I go pretty light (especially on the front and on the windshield); 70-80% light transmission. I’m particular about the paint protection film as well. I like to communicate with the professionals and know their process. They really need to leave the BS packages off of these vehicles. I don’t want the dealerships “creative” touch. I’ve never bought a vehicle with one and I never will.

They sell pretty well to woman and the younger crowd due to their looks. The problem is that most of those new buyers have no idea that they are really owned and made by BMW so the repair bills are insane. After the first big service, reality hits.

$40k for a small car, crazy. I'll keep my Honda Fit. Boring, but reliable, affordable, and will outlast those. Surprisingly, bigger inside than you would think, very practical car. I bought mine in 2018 for $19,400. EX-L version, headed leather seats, sunroof, and paddle shifters.

At risk of drawing some ire, these are chick cars, just like VW beetles were when I was a teenager. Overpriced - yes, for what you’re getting. I was an EMT in Wisconsin & seen some gruesome stuff (besides being a Navy Corpsman in Vietnam) and I sure wouldn’t want to be in one of these under a semi trailer.

Yeah the new Beetles are definitely chick cars, the original one not so much. Mini Coopers can be nice depending on the color and options but some of them like the pink ones are definitely chick cars.

No, you are 100% correct. I made a similiar comment. A ton of women and younger people buy these cars. They love the unique looks and feel they are getting something exotic. But the quality is terrible and not worth the price IMHO.

I am a member of a mini cooper club here in So.Cal. 700 members now and everyone loves their buggies. How well you maintain any car makes abhuge difference. Just dont buy any Mini between the years 2006-2012, they were the most problematic.

Like it or not, you're forgetting that MINI is supposed to be a 'luxury' brand...so take reasonable prices and 1.5x - 2.0x them right off the bat. The prices you showed on these new F6x generation cars are the same prices we've seen at MINI for the last 5-6 years. $35k-$52k

If you walk into a Mini dealership complaining about how small the car is, then it says something about your intelligence or lack there of. Tiny car is literally in the brand’s name. We have had 3 of these. It’s my wife’s car. You definitely have to be a Mini fan to buy these. It was her dream car if you can believe that. First one we bought used and when it had problems we bought a 2019 Mini. Then we traded the Mini Cooper Hardtop for a 2022 Countryman. The payment is $412 per month. The car has only been in the shop for routine maintenance, breaks and a battery. Not bad for 3 years of owning the car.

@@Almighty_cornholio Exactly. My wife drives a Mini Countryman and I drive a Jeep Wrangler. It’s not about pleasing everyone it’s about getting what you want and paying a fair price for it. We have done well on both vehicles. And I would not trade them for a Toyota, Honda, Tesla or anything else.

For the size they perform pretty decent. From the racing heritage, they have a huge following. Mini still operates separately from BMW & reliability is up quite a bit. The type of buyer who gets a Mini is one who wants something small but premium. All American car makers have ditched small cars in favor of higher profit SUV’s. A tuned Mini can easily make 300whp and is surprisingly fun to drive. Most people work on their own cars being enthusiasts so dealer location doesn’t matter to them.
