Thank you so much. How exactly is the γ pronounced in the conjugation forms αργείς, αργεί and αργείτε? I was taught to pronounce it like the y in yes when it’s before an “i” or “e” sound, but it sounds like you are pronouncing it like the g in get, even though it’s before the combination “ει”, which has an “i” sound in Greek. Thank you! :)

Γεια σου ! The rule that you know is correct. Before the i or e we pronounce it as y in yes. From person to person it might be a bit more strong 😉

Yet another great lesson. Thank you very much! One question: I have memorised all seven verbs in the list you mentioned in the video. Are there many more B2 verbs? The reason for my question is that, as we saw earlier, sometimes some B1 verbs are written with an alternative ending, that is without the "ά" for example "μιλώ" or "ροτώ". If I encounter one of these verbs, how can I tell that it is a B1 verb and not a B2 verb?
@greeklessonsonlinevideos
@greeklessonsonlinevideos 5 жыл бұрын
There are many B2 verbs. And yes you are right, the B1 verbs have the alternative ending that looks like the B2. However this ending is similar only in the I, he and they form. Keep in mind that most of the times you will find them in the -αω forms and not in the alternatives. The locals when they speak tend to use also the -αω more.

As an expert in explaining grammar, could I ask you to make a video on how to form the comparative and the superlative in Greek? Are there rules regarding the addition of affixes to the stem adjective or are the words πιο and η/ο/το πιο just equivalent ways to form the comparatives and comparative superlatives in Greek? Thank you so much 💥💥💥
