I love this man so much. I saved family heirloom greasy bean seeds that's been on our family for over 300 years. My great aunt 78 years old had some old seeds that were over 10 years old. I got 8 seeds out of 1500 to pop. Because of this man's video I have replenished the family seeds. This morning I harvested 7.5 gallons of greasy beans. .I so wish he was still alive to send him my love and appreciation. This is a dying art, 3 major corporations that control all our food. Our society has become lazy and dumbed down. I will pass down the art of gardening and canning. Many blessings

Washing the jars doesn't have anything to do with them sealing and staying sealed. When canning I find that if I don't wash the jars, after some time a light film of mold will begin growing especially in the threaded portion at the top. And although, it isn't harmful, it certainly is un-sightly. OAG

My grandfather grew huge gardens every year, around 2 acres of just gardens. If we wanted to ride papaws 4wheeler, we had to go pick peas & bring them back to the house. Then we sat down with our 5 gallon buckets & shelled them. I remember my fingers would be purple & I probably ate more than I shelled. But after we got them all to the sink for mamaw to wash, we got a tank of gas & got to ride in the woods all day! 😊 sweet memories.

Thanks for this video. I do everything but the blanching. I put the beans into the jar raw. I always get the air bubbles out too after the water is poured in. I was wondering why you blanch the beans? Maybe I will try it. I think they recommend too much salt for canning the beans also. I tried adding no salt but they are too bland. I think 1\4 tsp. is enough. You know how to safely can the beans! Thanks so much OAG!
