I think you should have a look at The Brave with Anne Hesche & Mike Vogel which is amazing more about the covert/secret missions. There is also the Valor which is about the 160th SOAR.

As an ex submariner, one thing you have to be aware of with rifle rounds with CQB in a marine environment is bulkhead penetration. We were trained in a limited capacity to repel and search for boarders using the L85A1 and bulkhead penetration was an issue, especially when your shipmates may be holed up on the other side of that bulkhead.

The reason he asked how big the area on the map was is to give that information to the viewer. The only way to inform them about small details like that is to include it in snippets of dialogue. It's not always about character development.

Seals train extensively underwater. For example the seals doing the recon and coming back to the tram, they all wear rebreathers. It filters out your exhail and it adds oxygen. I knew someone who grew up making models. He made all sorts of things. WW2 planes, Star Wars, Castles, and his own designs of Sci-Fi spacecraft and knew how to code and use design software to build 3D CGI renders of his designs. He was a total geek, real smart, high IQ and super talented. He ended up working in special effects for the film industry for about 10 years, then essentially disappeared from our social circle for 6-7 years. I bumped into him a year back and learnt he was working for our Police Special Tactics (and our military (I assume our special forces) as a civilian. He has a small team of guys/gals that build real world and CGI models for them. He wouldn't talk much about it, just said he 'builds models for the cops and army guys' but I assume he does exactly what you're talking about with target models. He's the perfect guy for it temperament wise. Humble, quiet, gets along with everyone, wouldn't hurt a fly and zero ego. Knowing his work, we can safely assume his models would be epically real and super detailed, right down to the individual screws on a table. He loves it! Reckons he'll do it 'til he retires. No idea what they are paying him, but its probably way less than what he could earn in the film industry. What a cool job. He gets to use his talents and do something that definitely saves lives, contributes massively to operational success and gets to work with hardcore professionals. I'm happy for him, sounds like he's found his tribe and his niche in it.
