This is the video that inspired me when I was 14 to stop taking the piano lessons that I hated and start learning the songs I wanted instead. 5 years later-I’ve played professionally and started teaching. Best decision I ever made :)

oh god lessons in musical school or sth like that are terrible when u really wanna play something different that they want you to. I feel relatable to you because i was always self taught but when i was a kid i had some of guitar lessons and just like you hated it. But with time and practising lot by myself i've actually started to make a big progress and just be passionate with it and learn even classical stuff that i hated when i was young. I also started to learn by myself other instruments like piano and saxoph. If i didn't quit this school i would never be in the same place that i'm today. And btw i'm not saying these schools are bad because they actually teach you some of the basic but really hold down your own musical horizons in my case . Best wishes :D

Piano lessions are actually helpful if you listen to when the teacher says. If you do that music like this comes easy. I'm currently 18 and I've been teaching for 4 years now because I started and actually listened and practiced 4 hours or more a day

Phillip Marshall it really depends on the person. Sure, I learned a lot from my teacher, but I didn’t enjoy it nearly as much as I enjoyed teaching myself. And when I actually enjoyed it, I was motivated to practice a lot more.

Actually I agree that the piano is one of the most expressive. Granted not so much on an electric keyboard, but a piano can be anything you want it to be - you can play with power, you can play a sad song so quietly, and with pedal it's even more so

TkoSlayer it's not electric fully - it had pressure sensitive keys so it's not a keyboard - it's an actual piano. Learn to play the instrument before judging it though.
