Green Hackers - SE1 EP1

Green Hackers is an original, tropical, and dystopian story written by Odair Faleco and Max Tango during the pandemic in 2021, now transformed into a multi-episode AI Web Series, thanks to AI and zero1cine Originals.
This story brings analogies connected to the indigenous tribes in Brazil and their fight against illegal land demarcation, the greed of farmers, miners, militias, political lobby and the expanding forces of Progress (aka. Capitalism). We wanted to mix elements of our culture, but also bring to light contemporary discussions from our land, blending all of this inside our love for sci-fi novels.
"The year is 2224 and the overcrowded cities are dying. The low water supply, the polluted air, and the urban violence are pushing people back to the few remaining wild forests, but the old woods always had their natural inhabitants and protectors. They will fight and use all their resources to stop this exodus in order to avoid losing their territory and have the same fate as the rest of the world. The Green Hackers have the power of the forest, wisdom, and technology on their side, they will never surrender!"
The Green Hackers is not just a story, it's a universe where maps, tribes, their symbols and characteristics were carefully crafted, bringing to light one original and exotic world and environment that blends nature, technology, and social causes.

As an artist I would be absolutely frustrated trying to tell and illustrate a story like this. Using AI. It's just too limited. It'd be like trying to will the wind to blow something exactly the way you want it moved.

Understand, but as an artist too, as many forms as expression as possible, the best. AI empower people to tell stories in ways that were not possible before. I would never be able to shot this in a real film or old ways. AI gives access and its good for creativity.

@@zero1cine You could do it with something like Adobe Premier and it would be much better and more cohesive. This is little more than a slightly animated picture book. Not even a Graphic Novel. Like a pop up book. You put a lot of work in this but that same work would be so much better put into other resources. This is an OK tool maybe for helping with story boarding. Or giving an idea for the look you want to go for. I've used these kinda tools before and it just turns out more trouble than their worth. Now if someone has no drawing ability, this may be great for something simple like a childrens book. You won't have to hire an artist. But anything more complex, it just way too limited. It's also kinda like wanting to build something intricate out of legos but all you have are huge legos... so instead you make a HUGE piece to get the detail you want. But this is more limited than that because it just can't fill in the gaps. or maybe it could if you just made it huge enough and spent years on it.

@@Wolfsheim23 Sorry, with all due respect, you don't know what are you talking about. I have worked in the creative industry for over 15 years, so I know what I am talking about. Adobe Premiere is just a video editor, it does not make any difference on the film at all. Yes, there are limitations of movement for AI video creation, but the main point that you still did not understand is: if I had made this in the old ways, this film would never have existed, in the same way, this story was just words inside a Word doc on my computer for 4 years since 2020. Doing this in the old way, just this 7 min, would require years of work, of a multidisciplinary team (2d and 3d artists, texture, animations, camera, light, actors, makeup, etc) big crew, equipment, cameras, traveling, it would cost a huge amount of money just to make 3 min of this. You have no idea how much costs and how much time it will take to make this film without AI, in the normal way. AI empowers people who would never have the resources to shoot a film to bring their stories to life, and this is priceless.

@@zero1cine Ok I meant to say Adobe After FX and the rest i just don't agree can be done better with AI. Or That time could be put into learning Blender techniques. This is still just a picture book cycling just a few frames and I'd be utterly frustrated having to work with just that. Sorry.
