Absolutely spot on review, i played the story mode about a year ago, and was challenging at the beginning, once you're hooked up you're done for. I can't say anything console wise, pc controls are actually pretty intuitive and very good, I played The Forest on console and i feel like you can't really get the best out of a controller with this kind of games. Has been constantly updated since and new expansion spirit of amazonia works pretty well. It's one of those games where you always feel like a beginner and now you have to be careful while picking up stuff too... They added a damned surprise... Took me about three bites to understand what was going on... I think is one of the most underrated survival games out here.

I actually prefer turning sanity off as the mechanic does really reflect the real world as eating some things bother some people but wouldn't even phase another. If they would of had a more toxic effect from eating poison found in plants and animals affecting sanity world of been better. For example the pine needles of a pine can be a great source of vitamin C but the roots of one are poisonous

I guess... the only way to make funny videos with Green Hell is to show how many times you die before you learn to survive.... I died on day 3 for two weeks before I realized that the little icon "you are dirty x4" ment that I should wash off (three times or four) before eating or tending to my wounds. Its a nice change of scenery to die out in the jungle and not killed in the streets and buildings in Tarkov.

You could’ve still picked up the pot though. If you open your back pack and use the cursor to click on it, you’ll pick it up and can carry the water in the pot to a fire. Also, tribals spawn in certain places when you are sane and when they are real. I don’t know how much you explored the map so I don’t want to say you didn’t explore enough. Also when you are going insane, fake tribals spawn only when your sanity is below 25%. You start going insane when below 50% but only hear voices. So if you wanted them to show up more than once, you have to be more insane. Also, with spirits of Amazonia, the map is expanded upon much much much more. Although I don’t really agree that the map being small is a con or if it is even small. It didn’t really feel small with the multiple locations you can find. Multiple caves. Multiple man made structures. There’s even an illegal gold digging portion of the map that’s only accessible thru the story. So…. It felt big to me. Finally, I never understood people not liking controls for games. Like, I get it, if the controls are hard to remember, then yeah, that sucks. But if I’m playing a game I find interesting and want to see more of, I’m going to try my best to remember the controls. Like isn’t that the point of picking up the game for the first time? Learn the controls so you can play it? All that aside, I really did like your review and it’s a lot more in depth than others. I agree that bugs suck. I’ve played the pc version of Green Hell and I’ve already beat the story in the console version. I haven’t come across any bugs yet. But I am expecting them. All in all. I love the game and disagree with some of your cons. But love the amount of work you put into the review. Keep it up.
@formidablejp5582 жыл бұрын
Oh! Also, the chance of natives showing up at your base “supposedly” increases if you have a fire going. Because they’re supposed to “see” the smoke. So there’s supposed to be some sort of tribal spawning near you when you have a base camp. And a fire. I’ve even seen videos of people having parts of their camps destroyed by natives. Which is a thing. That’s why spike traps and bow traps are set up for defenses.
@OmegaRejectz2 жыл бұрын

@minihalkoja590 Жыл бұрын
@@swoopstudios1104The hardest part of survival in The Forest comes from the cannibals and mutants, and they can be easily cut down by traps and bow & arrow headshots. You would have to be dumber than stupid to die from dehydration or starvation. The one and only disease/infection you can get, is a slight debuff on stamina, and it's instantly cured by eating one common plant. Low sanity is more of a buff because it unlocks new buildings. The only aggressive animals around are the sharks and alligators. You can even survive by eating only rabbits, which is a good way to end up dead in real life. The Forest gets easy early on, and it gets even easier from there.
