It seems that the whole structure is fixed to the outer brick leaf only. Given its weight (oak + tiles) and the wind load, isn't it too much for a 1/2 brick wall? Sorry, I don't know the UK Building Regulations, so my question might sound silly🙂

Hi I think Alex did get a fixing through to the inner leaf as the fixing went in quite deep. Kindest regards Declan

The woodwork is beautiful a little to heavy for that wall I think,would the front of the house be finished now so it can look wonderful with the new canopy ?

This is really nice work. I'm just curious how long are the fasteners and were they necessarily lagged into the building or was the chemflex I believe is what it was callled what you used to stabilize the bolt into the building? And how far out onto the patio does the roofline cover? I really appreciate your response!

Hi there, thanks for having a look at our video. Chemfix 150 mm deep was sufficient, we got a good hold. And the roof projected 1metre out. Also the fact that the roof section was bolted to the wall provided a solid anchor. I felt confident that it was well fixed. Kindest regards Declan

the oak work is beautiful i would really love to have a go at that. great workmanship... But whoever did the cement work on them tiles should be shot lol.

I'm actually not sure who pointed up those tiles. But in this day and age we really can't go around shooting people. 🤔

do we need 3 rafters considering roof light weight materials?

Good question, you probably could get away with 2 rafters but I think overall when you are standing there. I think 3 looks better. Over time you may have a bit of sag underneath. Yes you could even use thinner materials all over, but it really looks quality as it is. Thanks for the comment. Many thanks Declan.
