Green Valley Lake Camping Trip Fathers Day Weekend 2.0

This is our second annual #camping trip at #GreenValleyLake for the #FathersDay #weekend. We attended kids #fishing derby but did not participate. We did however #swim and #hike around the lake. We also explored some new trails and found a relaxing creek. We #flyfish and caught lots of #bass #crappie #redear and #greensunfish . It was a fun filled weekend spent with the #family. It was nice to get away from the city and #explore #nature. Thanks for watching!

How was the weather up there overnight? I thought about camping there but since it’s like 7 thousand feet up I was wondering bout how cold It was. How bout bears? We just came back from mammoth. We had a bear come thru our campsite at 1am and toss our bear bin over. It was dope. 😆

This trip it wasn’t bad it got into the 40’s. Last year it was freezing we got in the 30’s. I have camped here 4 times and never saw a bear. I always ask the camp host when we check in if they have had any sightings. I would have been terrified if a bear came through camp…..

im going soon and was able too book site #1 do you know if it still looks the same that was my fave site it was nice and private

Oh nice! When I went in June it looked like it had some water damage after the winter. A small water channel cut through it from the rain. The picnic table look like it sunk down like 4-6 inches. However they were cleaning it all up the day we left. When we booked our spot. Spot 1 looked like it was booked. I asked the camp host about it and she said they had to do maintenance on it so they marked it as unavailable. So if you were able to book it you should be good to go. I think you will enjoy the spot. It was still very secluded. Idk when you are going but I read the swim beach will be closed Labor Day weekend because of water run off from last weeks storm. I would double check with GLV recreation. It was posted on their instagram page. Just an FYI. Have a great trip and thanks for checking out the video 🤙🏽
