Plankton reflect green light. I think NASA is messing around with light somehow and can make plants absorb green light, but if it's not a space plant, red and blue are the way to go. Or is reflecting the light the goal? To make them more visible to the predators? I think you need red and blue light to attract them, and green light to make them visible if that's the case.

What I don't understand is why they don't catch the shad and use those instead of minnows? One cast net throw and the would have free bait all night.
@TheCSFriendly7 жыл бұрын
They are fishing for crappie, Crappie bite more on minnows rather then shad. If they wanted catfish then the shad would be the go to.
@Arnoldj19796 жыл бұрын
Because shad are really hard to keep alive in a bait well or bucket (threadfin) Minnows are hardier and stay alive much longer. Otherwise your right, shad is a natural forage for Crappie. Ever see crappie suspended under a bait ball on your sonar? That bait ball in the middle of the lake is shad obviously =)
@huckfinsfishingguideservic87306 жыл бұрын
Jesse Arnold you are absolutely correct. I've used them for bait and they work very well. But they don't keep well and you need the right size for crappie.

Did you know that the solubility of oxygen in water is inversely proportional to the temperature of the water? Colder water dissolves more oxygen, which is why there are many bloodless fish in arctic regions.
@bakervinci1635 жыл бұрын
Vivian Tristesse I did not know the math, but knew that there was less o2 in hot water. So what is the best way to apply this? Is it simply to fish the thermocline?
@VyvienneEaux5 жыл бұрын
Baker Vinci I’m no fisherman but I have noticed that on hot or sunny days, the fish tend to be at the bottom of the lake. On overcast days, fishing from the shore seems to be more successful (with a beginner setup at least)

Got these thinking they were the slightly larger Panfish floats kzbin.infoUgkx_rJB7cli5f1ofPVGgn80S7Yj4vqwq0gU they work just fine. The smaller size lets me carry more in my tackle box, and the 3 color choices are nice for different lighting conditions, backgrounds, etc. They aren't the most durable things in the world. But, as cheap as they are, it's not heartbreaking to lose one or have to replace a worn one. The price on these fluctuates wildly, from about $9 to almost $16. So, time your buy accordingly.

@okwildlifedept3 жыл бұрын
Sand bass are not the same as white perch. A sand bass is another name for a white bass (Morone chrysops). White perch (Morone Americana) are actually a member of the temperate bass family, so it visually has many similarities to a white bass, but they are not the same thing.
