Do you have experience of keeping amano shrimp with AR? I heard they will eat the plant, but surely people do keep them together?

Could work, but many times will lead to failures. Especially if you have more shrimps and less algae.

It happens when you rarely plant your aquarium. If it does not mess up the substrate, it is less likely to happen. You can also reduce the flow on the filter but still benefit from the extended media volume.
