Hi there! Love you're videos by the way. I just got the Riva stage 1 plus kit + ribon delete kit + blow off valve installed on my GP1800r 2021. I'm hiting 82-83mph like Riva says. Beside changing the sound of the exhaust I'm wondering if the Riva free flow exhaust and there waterbox would give me more performance ? Tank you.
@GreenHulkGarage

You won’t notice a difference in performance, mostly just sound. I do love the way my rear exit exhaust sounds! The free flow drones a lot more than the rear exit and I tend to stay away from the free flow.

I plan on doing the stage 1+ on my 21 GP1800R SVHO. Do you need to remove the panels to install the bracket for the air intake kit or can you use the existing bolt? Also, for the stage 1+ i was going to stick with stock impeller, do you see any issues with not upgrading the impeller if you do all other stage 1+ upgrades?
@GreenHulkGarage

Hey man love the videos!!! Question for you. I have a 2019 GP1800r that I am pulling the trigger on upgrading in the coming weeks. I want to to get the most performance out of it as possible under the following criteria. Level of importance to me 1) acceleration 2) handling 3) top speed Climate: Wisconsin Gas easily available to me: 91oct, ethanol free I care more about the acceleration than top speed, but obviously want to get as fast as possible at the same time. I do not want to do anything internal modifications at this time. What are the parts I should order to get the most out of the machine with these criteria in mind? Thanks in advance for your advice and keep up the good work with the content!!!

The RIVA racing stage 2 kit along with the RIVA ride plate available at GreenHulk.net is going to be the most bang for your buck! Use coupon code “GreenHulk” at checkout to save 10%. The kit improves all the weak links on the GP while drastically increasing acceleration and top speed! It will be very reliable and an absolute blast to ride. The kit does come with valve retainers which would be classified as an internal modification but is not 100% necessary, you will just have to run an 8700 RPM limit tune.

Should you not use launch control when the Riva ride plate is installed? According to Yamaha, launch control puts the bow down but the Riva ride plate puts the bow up.

Launch control only trims the bow down when launching. The bow needs to be down from a holeshot so the ski doesn’t jump out of the water. Once the ski is on plane then it should be trimmed up

Each panel has a total of 7 bolts. First you’ll have to take the mirrors off (they each have 2 bolts and will lift right out) then you’ll have 3 bolts on each panel directly under the front hatch, 2 bolts under the glove box lid, one bolt on the outside near the seat, and one bolt behind the bulkhead. Once all the bolts are out then you can pull forward on the panel and it’ll come right off

i'd keep the stock intake grate. I'd rather have that grate to stop debris from hitting the jet when hauling ass in the ocean. You cannot image how much seaweed gets caught and is prevented from clogging up the impeller when riding in the ocean.
@GreenHulkGarage
@GreenHulkGarage 2 жыл бұрын
Ken, aftermarket grates do not let anymore debris in than the factory grate. This is a myth born on the internet from novices that don’t know any better.
@k.tanaka1866
@k.tanaka1866 2 жыл бұрын
The grates have a purpose and that is to filter large objects. The aftermarket grate doesn't really have any grates. It is simply a large hole. If your PWC goes over some large sticks or any kind of debris that is small enough to the big hole it will go straight into the impeller and damage it. The factory grate will offer a better chance of protecting debris from hitting the impeller because of the slits itself. This is not a myth, it's logic.
@GreenHulkGarage
@GreenHulkGarage 2 жыл бұрын
@@k.tanaka1866 you really need to look at the aftermarket grates and compare them side by side. Need me to email you pictures? They absolutely do have grates! Two large bars running the length of the grate. Just like the stock grate. The purpose of the grate is to improve pump efficiency and direct water to the top of the pump tunnel and to improve handling. The grate will keep large objects, such as branches and sticks out of the pump as a side effect. The aftermarket grates do a better job at increasing pump efficiency and handling than the stock grate. They do not allow any more small debris into the pump than the stock grate does. Again, the grate is not there to “filter” debris from getting in your pump. It’s not a screen. It has large openings for a reason.
@k.tanaka1866
@k.tanaka1866 2 жыл бұрын
I never said that the grate's primary purpose is to filter debris. It is obvious that the primary purpose is to funnel water. No need to email me anything. I will send you a link so you and others can see that physical differences. watercraftjournal.com/the-technology-behind-top-loader-intake-grates/ The stock has 3 slits and those slits protect (to a certain extent) large debris from entering. I am not saying the manufacturer has the best design. But the stock grate does work and really helps in stopping from large debris from entering.
@GreenHulkGarage
@GreenHulkGarage 2 жыл бұрын
@@k.tanaka1866 Ken, the aftermarket grates do not allow more debris to enter the pump than the stock grate does. If it helps you feel better by running the stock grate it’s your choice, but to say don’t use an aftermarket grate because you will suck up more debris is absurd. By not going with an aftermarket grate you are leaving performance on the table. Not to mention the stock grate is cast aluminum and weak and dangerous at speeds over 80 mph. The Riva grate is stainless steel and simply will not break, and has been proven at speeds of 130+ mph 👍
