@GreenmarkBuilders2 жыл бұрын
I had the corners cut at the shop before when we picked up the wood. You can see the corners get ripped in the video. This all can be done on an on site table saw.

I am wanting to do a darker stain like yours and hv tested a few different types of stains but still hv not found the right that I want. But your me is really darn close to what I’m looking for !! Were your corner piece boards actually 2x8 or were they 1 1/2 x 7 1/4 because in order to rip the corner pieces it looks like a 2 x 4 isn't big enough??
@andrewkirschner14853 жыл бұрын
What dimensions did you rip for the corner pieces in other words?
@GreenmarkBuilders3 жыл бұрын
I started with rough lumber and cut everything down. The finish dimension of the corners need to be square so adjustments will need to be made
@thesalvadorfamily57282 жыл бұрын
Awesome stuff. So the base trim on the bottom looks like the 1x6. The top base trim looks shorter height wise, did you cut the top base to less than the 1x6? If so what height were they cut to? I’m referring to the column base you cut at 45 degrees and nailed over the long corner trim pieces. Thanks again. I’m inspired 👍🏼
@GreenmarkBuilders2 жыл бұрын
I use the rule of 3rds. Top base is 2/3 the height as the top. Whatever height you use, try this rule. I always stand back and look after tacking on a couple pieces first. Best of luck with your project!

I'm going to attempt this very soon. Home Depot sells the corner pieces, any issues with using those? I'm unsure of how to make them without failing miserably.
@GreenmarkBuilders3 жыл бұрын
You can use the pre made corners from a box store for sure. I personally find the edges are softened (rounded off) a little more than I like. I prefer making my own but I totally understand why you are going the route you are.
