Life consists of polarities - light and dark, good and evil, sweet and bitter. We are no different. All of us have a shadow side. And it is this shadow or dark side that allows us to gain a sense of perspective, by allowing us to truly appreciate the light side of life. The more we acknowledge what we don’t like, the easier it is to see our gifts and strengths. It makes us a whole human being.

What a lovely and vivacious person she is! Her face lights up the room - her smile is infectious! Knowing we need to love ourselves is the key. Learning how to do it is the journey. It’s easier for me to my gifts to be use for others, seeing very clearly their path but for myself and the ones very close not that clearly. I actually like that… don’t want to play God. 😊 I liked your brother’s quote. Very true l! I Learned that when you care so much about others, you also forget about yourself and also behind there is a need to be accepted. I learned to balance and set limits for myself. I wrote a short story once called "rise above your shadow" which is in line with that Change Tzu quote -don't try to run from it, you can't run away from yourself, believe me I've tried. lol But also I think that negative voice that keeps you down and away from being present, from being in it (in our body and being yourself uncensored ) to rise above the critique, rise above your shadow -don't just watch yourself go through life, live it.
