DIY - Dust Collector Centrifugal Air Blower [4K]

In this video, I make a Dust Extraction System. It's a way to get the dust out of my workshop. I am building many parts using 10mm plywood. I use the electric motor that I removed from an old fan.
There are many air blower videos on KZbin. Very good videos, what I did was a dust collector Centrifugal Air blower that works quietly, though not very powerfully. It consumes very little electricity and works great. It easily collects and expels the wood dust in my workshop.

Просто и наглядно. Зачёт!!! С меня лайк и подписка на канал! У меня в детстве был полуавтоматический диапроектор. Каретка пошла на перекос, заклинило, ну и как следствие - расплавился от галогенной лампы 150 W пластмассовый вентилятор охлаждения. Я его из плотной бумаги потом склеил точно по такому же принципу.

Reconfigure your installation to get rid of that 90• elbow. Flex duct work is another thing to avoid if possible. Removing the elbow will make a huge improvement in the performance.

That’s all connected to the exhaust (outlet) end though right? From what I can see he didn’t hook any lines up to the part that actually sucks up the dust

Looks like a nice size tradeoff for improved noise reduction. I suspect it'd be really good for smaller tools such as a scrollsaw if you wanted to use it directed at a single tool, rather than to merely circulate.

simple but effective - don't mind the ones that want always bigger - faster -louder ....i also prefer low-energy-consumption and silent solutions 👍🏻we do have enough machine that are crazy loud and every extra noise we don't add to them is a win - and btw for the very fine dust flying around in the workshop/ air that is a nice way to do it. but i admit if you want to use also a particle filter in the airstream the power may be not sufficient. 🤔 i'll have to check this -Anyway- well done & keep up

Такой же, только железный. Двух-скоростной, 1 кВт/2800 об., 180 Вт/800 об., в стальной бочке со съемной крышкой в качестве накопителя. А этот - развалится через неделю использования от разбалансировки и общей хлипкости конструкции. У меня первый то вариант, из стали 1 мм в разнос пошел. Балансированный, между прочим. Теперь из 1,5 мм стоит.

Una idea excelente talvez mejor que la que yo tengo en mi pequeño taller. Dos ventiladores con las aspas invertidas y un tubo de 110mm conectado a la salida de humos del techo. I tried using this motor (from a floor fan) for a spinning wheel. at a load much less than yours, it heated up very quickly. this motor only works with forced air cooling.

I work with exhaust fans for restaurants and you have a very excellent design if you were to put some type of Venturi on it that would increase the speed and you can use that to pipe to your equipment for dust collection

Not exactly speed as such but air flow pressure, however, the idea is just great. I'd add to this excelent idea the use of some sort of light materials such as acrilyc or polycarbonate. Thanks again for your work and for sharing it

Hi, so many people make the encloser bigger than the propeller. I think there is wrong, because the part presure in this run just round this encloser without any effect. Maybe i am wrong but there is my opinion. Anyway good job. Greetings from Lech land.

You killed it with that 90⁰ elbow. You need to find either a sweep 90⁰ (large radius) or to install two 45⁰ elbows to soften that turn, for improved efficiency. Just saying...

I think it's a great machine you've built but if it was me I would have made the impeller to shroud distance way smaller than what you have primarily because if you look at EDFs (electric ducted fan) , squirrel cage fans , turbochargers and turbine engines ,they traditionally have extremely close tolerances to achieve maximum efficiency otherwise you're generating a lot of turbulent flow in that space between the impeller and shroud and whilst I understand you don't want to produce the equivalent of jet engine thrust it will give you far greater efficiency out of the 65 watt motor
