Thanks for the video and so glad your plants fared much better than mine. I ordered from Asean Exports once and I'll never order from them ever! Your explanation of your plants from them is exactly what I experience as well. It was a couple of years ago but I don't think any of them survived except the plumeria stick which once it finally bloomed turns out is not the one I ordered, not even close in color. They also didn't send 5 plants from my order and wouldn't refunded me nor sent me new plants. They are horrible, so please y'all there are way more reliable sellers out there now a days, stay away from Asean Exports.

Great comparison video. I've ordered from Asian Plant Export 2 Jun and didn't receive my order until 28 Jul. Plants were completely dried up and dead. After fighting with them they agreed to resend the order. Hoping it won't take as long this time because it was a $200+ order. So far I am very unhappy with them.

I'm thoroughly impressed by what you received. Some time back I decided to order some hoyas from a vendor in Thailand. Spent a considerable amount of money for them. Not only did it take a month and a half for me to receive them, they were all either dead or almost dead. I was extremely upset about and to this day I'm weary of ordering plants from out of the states. I would think aroids would probably bounce back from transport a lot easier than hoyas do if I ever decide to order again i think the choice of plants might be a consideration. Appreciate the video

Sorry to hear of your bad experience. I still get nervous when I'm about to open these packages, but so far, I've done alright. I paid Asean additional momey for the DHL shipping and Greenspaces sends their packages DHL Express without additional charge. Otherwise, I think the odds are against you with extended shipping time. You can tie half-broken stem with a green plant tape just to secure it and it will heal. I've got my Thai with broken stem and I did secure it and it healed. I was stunned when saw it.

These days a purchase from Greenspaces took about 2 weeks just to ship out..... then another week to go thru shipping and get delivered via EMS. Plants arrived just fine, a bit on a small side though - I see ppl unboxing quite large sizes so I was a bit bummed over that.... Still prices are good.

I believe that Indonesian plants are grown in actual garden, meanwhile Thailand's olant are grown in Greenhouses. This is because most of Thai's plants companies are industrialized. after all they exported industrial grade foods. Indonesia meanwhile is more "home made" farming techniques, with plants planted outside getting the black soils of the volcanoes and the sun of the highlands. That's why Thai's plants are a lot smaller because it's industrial size and probably grown in some greenhouse.

Yes. Absolutely Right. Every house has their own garden, even only small garden. Plants always growing wild here. Sometimes we found collectable plants such a monstera deliciosa, giant photos, billietiae, etc grows in the cemetries, river, street, and abandoned places. There are so many famous plants that growing wild here. We dont even need to buy.

My experience with Asean Plant Export was the exact same. I even paid extra for expedited shipping. Yet everything arrived with rooted roots (Thai constellation, Adansonii, Standlyena). It was very disappointing cause they were nice specimens. I think they overwet the moss that surround the root

I'm not familiar with the FDA certificate. That, I think, is for major plant importers. In the US, you can import up to 12 plants with only the phyto certificate. Hope that helps.

Hi Nickie, I have seen it done both ways with the coconut husk. I, personally, was able to remove mine without damaging the plant. However, I don't believe the plant will have any issues if you plant the whole thing with the husk attached. I couldn't get my plant into the small pot I had with the husk on, so I removed it. It's hard to resist those prices sometimes, which is what keeps us going back. I ordered from them again a month ago. Will be posting my unboxing soon. Best of luck with your new plants. I didn't find the pics on their website very helpful in terms of size. Sometimes the plants are larger than pictured and sometimes they are smaller. Hopefully, the sunrise you get will be larger than mine. Best of luck!

Yeah Asean exports was a really messy package.... The fact that they didn't even send two of the plants. You're Asean exports haul was like what other people's greenspaces problem has been in the past. I wonder how much of it is totally in the hands of customs.
