And they forgot Kevin love Irving and lebron. Also Boston have rondo an all star and double double machine that time when he is Boston and avg 2 stl per game. @@98753741963 maybe Bynum gasol and kobe but I don't know if we say big 3 the 3 players is in the top 10 in their position. Wade in that time is in top 2 in sg position kobe in 1st James harden still young that Time Manu ginobli is not better that time. And Chris bosh is in top 5 in his position than time maybe 3. And that is a big 3. 2008-2010 odom is not even a top 10 pf in that time. Bynum is always in top 10 in that time so I guess Bynum gasol and kobe is the big 3 but he always injured. He never complete the 82 games in that 3 years 65 is the highest. And he did not played in 2008 finals in 2009 he just 6ppg 4.2rpg 0.6 apg 0.6 bpg not that effective and in 2010 he just avg 7.4 ppg 6.6 rpg 0 ap 1.3 bpg and lamar odom great number 13. 5ppg 9rpg 2008 13.4ppg 7.8 rpg 2009 7.6 ppg 6.6rpg 2010 good number but I can't consider it a big 3. So for me kobe and Shaq is a duo kobe and pau is also a duo. And kobe never have 2 all star caliber in his side. Wade is the franchise player of Miami before lebron came bosh is franchise player of Toronto before. Also Irving and love in Cavs and wolves. And this 4 can avg 20 points per game. Kobe never have 2 players can avg 20ppg only one so kobe always have duo. Not big 3. Kobe got big 4 but Payton is old and Malone too and they only play 1 year. They got big 3 Howard and Nash but Howard is not healthy and Nash is old and not also healthy. He got big 3 potentially dlo is young and randle too and his time is past that time because of Achilles and many injury after that injury. So I guess kobe never have a big 3 in his time I wish they get Chris Paul or Howard in 2011 maybe he got the 3 peats again and his 6 rings.

@@Me-sm9qk ginobili or parker didn't stand out when you look at their stats either but what the 3 of them did on the court when you were watching them made them a big 3. Injuries was the only thing stopping them. They are underrated. While it’s impressive the longevity of the Spurs trio, they had what no one on that list had...time together...and stability with a brilliant coach in pop. That spurs team play in the finals was the best teamwork I had ever seen from a team. It wasn't just the big four. It was Danny green, Boris diaw, it was everyone. And you can also make an argument in the mavs final, Jason Terry had a bigger impact than Bron lol. I still have the Spurs there, simply bc I don’t think that heat team was that good. It wasn’t just that they lost two finals series, it’s how they lost, who they lost to, and how they won. They never dominated. Even the Shaq/Kobe lakers were more dominant and if they played the heat head to head, I have the lakers dismantling the heat. Shaq/Kobe/insert random laker player are still ahead of the heat trio on my list. You’re right about the mavs - they were a good team - they finished with the second best record in the league, tied with the lakers. But the lakers were a mess that whole season. Odom and Bynum played half the reg season (and this was before Bynum peaked and was constantly dealing with being injured). The team was burned out from winning back to back championships. I even think Phil was diagnosed with cancer or something that year and I think that was also odoms last year in LA. They were a team in turmoil. The baby thunder just werent ready yet, young talent often loses to experienced vets in the playoffs. Despite cruising into the finals, no one had the Mavs beating the heat. The heat were heavy Vegas favorites and they were also picked by the majority of talking heads and sports analysts. And you even said it yourself, if Lebron showed up, they beat the mavs. He didn’t. The only convincing win by the Heatles was beating the baby thunder. Ray Allen just happened to be at the right place at the right time when Bosh randomly tipped out that rebound. It was a fluke play. And we saw how the Spurs just rolled them the next year. I was more impressed at how the Spurs and mavs easily destroyed the heat than when they beat up on a young OkC team. That’s why they don’t make my top 5.

@timdoyle16385 жыл бұрын
Rico Wright Bill Russell was a better rebounder than wilt, being 5 inches shorter and a hell of a lot lighter still averaged more rebounds/minute in his career than wilt. Also you have to take into account how much the rebounding statistic was inflated back in the 50-60’s. It’s very difficult to compare Rodman or players from the 90’s to players from the 60’s. Rodman could honestly be the greatest rebounder of all time, it was much more difficult to grab a rebound in the 90’s than the 60’s. It’s hard to say, But I think that’s why the dude said “arguably” the best rebounder.

It was a weak league though. Name another team during the Bulls prime that had another dynamic trio to counter them? They were the only one in the 90's to have a Dynasty level team. The 80's had about 4 or 5 dominant trios including the Pistons/Celtics/Lakers.. the 00's had Spurs/Celtics/Lakers, the 10's had the Spurs still, with the Heat, the Warriors, the Cavs. Seriously... consider what expansion in 1989 did to shallow the depth of talent in the 90's. It took a good decade for the NBA to increase its depth by expanding their influence overseas and that is when the Dirks of the world started flooding the league making the league deeper. Jordan and Pippen dominated a very thinned out NBA in the 90's. Granted it got more difficult for them in the later half as it was starting to recover.. but still.. no team in the league had a roster with a trio of stars that had a hope to match them. People rave about the Knicks but seriously.. look at that team.. it was Ewing with a bunch of role players. The fact they came close a couple times to defeating the Bulls in the post season is a marvel in itself considering the gap in talent between the two teams.

Up to a point on the latter part of that argument. I felt the rules changes were made in the mid 90s, after the Pistons had molded their style according to the rules in place, in the late 80s, but right after them the Knicks, under Pat Riley who I feel learned from Chuck Daly how to bring a rough team into the NBA and win with that style of defense (having lost to them while coach of the Lakers in the 80s). If you ask me it was those two teams, Pistons & Knicks coached by Daly & Riley, bringing down scoring averages with stellar defense played 'by the rules', that were responsible for commissioner lightening up what defenses could get away with, that changed the whole equation. And yes, I'd put Bird, McHale, Parish in the top 5 also.
