Have you ever tried a Wampler Paisley Drive (version 1)? If so how would you compare it to the Lightspeed?

Some people call it a 'Klon-killer' but for good reason. I have owned a lot of Klon-type pedals including the KTR. The Lightspeed sounded much better in every situation, with any guitars, any amps. Hard to beat this one when it comes to low gain / clean boost pedals.

I don’t have a MGv4 but I can guarantee the Lightspeed wins that comparison. The Lightspeed is very well balanced, keeps it’s low end well and overall is voiced better while still being transparent :) Thanks for commenting!

I own both pedals. Both are absolutely fantastic, but the Morning Glory slightly edges out the Lightspeed in my opinion. I generally keep the MG on all the time plus it has the higher-gain boost mode for when you need a little more out of it. Can’t go wrong with either pedal though.

Hey Tyler - Great video! I have the lightspeed and really love it as well. I have moved between the clean boost and light gain use with my Iridium. I think both ways sound fantastic. Quick question for you. Do you do any EQ in the Strymon IR Manager to the Volume/Treble/Bass levels?

Do you basically put this in the "Klon" family? I'm curious how it would go with an AC30, Strats, Teles, and a 335.

No, I wouldn’t put it in the Klon family. To me, it’s more in the bluesbreaker, preamp, op amp, Timmy type circuits. I think it would go excellent with all of the above. It pairs well with anything I put it with. I currently have J Rockett Silver Archer running a stage 2 into it. Thanks for watching!

Oh man - the ultimate question for the Lightspeed. The Timmy has more gain on tap but overall the Lightspeed, to me has a better tone. I’d go Lightspeed. I had a Timmy, don’t miss it if that says anything for you. Thanks for watching!
