I would have enjoyed this more if the playlist was in some sort of order 🤷♂️

Same thing happened to my great grandmother. She was engaged and pregnant by a man before he went off to be a pilot in ww2, but he knocked up his superiors daughter so....you know which woman he married. My great grandmother only found out from the newspaper. Anyway, years down the read, the 2 sides of his family are re-united.

My father did the same thing in 1957 in the middle of the U.S. He had 3 children in 1 year with 2 women; my brother and I were only 11 months apart, born by his young wife, and at age 40 I discovered he had another girl with another woman, born between me and my brother. Discovered this before DNA tests! Now with DNA testing, many families are discovering these “surprises”. But it’s real life and fascinating to research. My father’s family are Welsh so I hope to visit there sometime to do further research of my own.

Im not sure why we only get bites of WDYTYA and the playlists certainly help. However, this bite should play before the previous (and it will still be missing a lot) because the previous bite deals with where he went to after this bite.

Did William really name his daughter after his mistress?
@kaspianepps79462 жыл бұрын
Elizabeth was also his mother's and grandmother's name. So Ithink it's more of a family name thing (and also Wales needs to come up with more first names).

I know a girl with a weird name, I asked where the name came from and the mom said: " my husband's ex mistress was called like that".
@AbiSaysThings23 күн бұрын
In those days it was just normal to use the same traditional names over and over again. Mary and Elizabeth being the obvious examples for women

Does anyone else find it very telling that William names his first child with his legal wife AFTER HIS LADYFRIEND with whom he’s produced 2 children? He must really have been something. I release Elizabeth was a common name, but he could have chosen other names.
@kaspianepps79462 жыл бұрын
Elizabeth was his mother's and grandmother's name so he was probably going with family tradition and acting like the affair never happened.

I think this show should take a random person (me), maybe a Yank (me) who is 70% English/Welsh, 15% Scottish North Highlands, and show me where I'm from. And maybe enlighten me as to how different my life would be, if my Great, Great ancestors had not imigrated!
@sorencyrano14133 жыл бұрын
Isn’t there an American version of this show? This should be something they could pursue. It would be interesting. Taking a dozen of ordinary people of (presumably) different backgrounds and trace them back to the old world.
@historyrepeating3 жыл бұрын
@@sorencyrano1413 there was a Canadian show called “ancestors in the attic” which was just like most genealogy shows, except with regular people as opposed to celebs. Usually they had some sort of family mystery they wanted to uncover which made shows interesting. Was cancelled many years back sadly.
