Road Trip Sleep Passenger Rule: - You only get an awake passenger if there's 2 things. 1. More than one passenger where the last driver can sleep. 2. You plan on arriving at your destination or staying at a hotel without a 3rd shift. If you plan on getting to your destination at 7pm, you can deal with a 2 hour nap. If they need a 3rd shift where the 1st driver needs to go again, let him sleep as much as he wants. Additional road trip tip: Leave insanely early. I live on the east coast, travelling during the middle of the day is miserable. I always leave at like 2am. Go to bed at 7pm, wake up, get on the road. You skip New York and most of New Jersey before others are even on the road.
