We had an 81 Moto Ski Grand Prix Special MX when I was a kid, which was just the IFS version of the 5500 with a different hood. It ran strong and rode nice but it was heavy and had a narrow ski stance for as tall as it was. Also was about useless in deep snow. Never ridden a leafer Blizzard but I’d love to get ahold of one.

@8:53 the rattle you hear is a clutch bushing that needs to be changed.

Them are the easy fun sleds, rebuild them clutches in garage , easy access in garage then trail slides. Carbs are a no-brainer , it choose your poison and rebuild it on the trail , I’ve had 78 Blizzard 7500 plus and 2 5500 also 9500 plus. I assume you SKI-DOO guys know exactly what you are doing-lol. Happy trails doo ya

You can get mikuni parts at a ski-doo dealer. Not just Pol-Cat-Wahl. Also, you can get carb boots from Kimpex

I had a airbox moving a wire that was broke inside, took awhile to find that one!

Just re-bought my old 79 Kawasaki 440 Drifter I sold back in 2017. Love the primer feature on it- two/three pumps and a pull is all it takes. Fires first pull every time. Love your vintage sled content.

Sounds like crap 5500, looks good tho, awe you got it , hurray have a great time unplugging the mouse turds out of the air/box open them up with 2” holes geniuses, change your jets with out air box, nope 👎🏻 I get why it’s called Nutty ‘s 🤔👍

Change the spark plug caps as they may be loosely clipping on the spark plug causing an intermittent misfire. You'll know if that is indeed happening if your exhaust is getting really hot as the engine is spitting raw fuel into the pipe and burning in the expansion chamber instead of the cylinder. Removing the air box makes it run better for some reason. I had this happen to my old sled. Just a thought, hope it helps.

Oneida county opens 8am Friday 8th, the pressure to open was too great. Understandable since other clubs opened and were taking business away from the b&g’s. Especially clubs who backstabbed the other clubs where they opened certain areas so their businesses get $ but the rest suffer from closed trails.. Certain Bo Bo club needs a spanking.
