This is a teaching video for someone who wants to push the limits. I know most of us have probably had the same start to a day. When the weather doesn’t cooperate and it makes the trip dangerous, don’t be stubborn. If it’s unsafe, call it. No fish is worth the risk. Thanks for everything, Greg.

Honestly the worst that can happen is I tip in my yak, unlike Greg. I Don’t have 15000 dollars worth of gear on my yak lol so dumping cause of bad weather doesn’t hurt me flip the yak over and basically hit restart

@@devinhoyt1700 I know it sounds like a Karen comment but it can happen, because it has. That kayak can hit you in the head an knock you out. Then what?? As a kayak fisherman I will never forget the day that I underestimated the risk of fishing in bad weather. My kayak flipped and I almost died from hypothermia. It is always important to keep reminding people that fishing from a kayak carries more risk that from a boat and therefore we need to have a low bar to call it off. This video reminds us of that... keep posting them. I enjoy this as much as when you post the tournaments.

Please keep posting the strugglebus videos; they’re what make your channel so relatable. Real-life Fishing rarely is going out and slamming them consistently- as you always say it’s about figuring out what is working for that specific time, weather, conditions, mood-whatever. Some days you figure it out and some days you don’t but they’re all good for learning and evolving as an angler. I’ve learned more on your channel that I did from other KZbinrs, family members, friends because you explain what your thought process is and analyze where you fell short. Winning doesn’t teach you anything so watching a very edited highly successful video is of little use to anyone. I know you and Dutch had the convo a few videos ago about a bad day of fishing vs a good day at work and your preferences but I will watch a Greg video of an unsuccessful day anytime. Thanks for your commitment and honesty and stay safe over everything else!!

Tight lines and keep up the awesome content.

Tough days do happen. One of the best things about tough days is that we can still learn things. We learn about our limits and we can learn to listen to our common sense when it comes to when we call it a day. The fact you share videos like this gives other kayak anglers the opportunity to see an example set for them to at least consider. It serves as a conscience for them to say, "you know what, I'm going to call it a day too." And the top 20 at the end reminds us that we can live to make memories like these...if we do something stupid!

These kinds of videos are what make the channel worth watching. You keep things honest and real. Fishing isn't always catching, especially these last couple months here in California. It's been tough for sure. I'm hitting McClure tomorrow...we'll see how it goes. Great start to the season, Greg.

Hi Greg, Just wanted to say I've been watching you for a few years. You inspired me to get a kayak and get back into fishing. I like how real your are being on the channel. Getting skunked happens.

I like seeing these videos, make me realize that the bad days are often due to conditions not within our control. Also, like seeing your prep/breakdown routine and that sort of thing. Thx
