Greg, Anxious to see the tourney video. The pre-fish one is great. I hope the pattern works. I loved the statement “I should be catching them on top water, who cares as long as I am catching them” paraphrased. That is the beauty of fishing it does not often follow a prescribed conditions based pattern and then at other times it does. Keeps us guessing.

@datruthhurts39844 жыл бұрын
I hear ya,but sometimes thats not true.we all tend to hook sweep set those two baits because of the way we fish em.single hook baits set better on vertical sets.I started consciously swinging early but added more like a 45 degree set(impossible to go vertical)and it seems I'm still connecting more often even when I freak out on a blow up. recommend using mono leaders for buzz when you can get away with it as well,even a foot and a half helps them get it better.my two cents

I love your videos. Just thought I would share some info. I saw a video from a guy who took a pair of vice grips to the hooks on is frogs and made the hooks move away from the body just like an 1/8th inch or less. He said it increased his hook up rate. He squeezed the vice grips on the round part of the hooks causing the hook to open up away from the body of the frog. Good luck and keep posting those awesome videos

Waiting to set the hook on a frog fish is a myth. A bass can eat a frog and spit it back out faster then your brain can process it ate the frog. Unless your fishing thick slop there is zero reason to hesitate.
@GregBlanchardFishing4 жыл бұрын
Dude, this comment is the truth! I've heard some of the best froggers (including Dean Rojas) say the same thing. "When do you set the hook? Immediately". Those fish either have it or they don't and if they don't then the frog may not be the best bait in that given situation.

I have but I think thats totally situational. I like the punch since it startles and gets those fish to react and bite more often than not!
@sg-mx4ii4 жыл бұрын
@@GregBlanchardFishing Here in Texas where I fish, the fish suspend about two feet under the weeds and if the bait goes through them too quickly the ignore it. If weightless they see it and take a good long hard look at it as they follow it down or hit it on the drop. I guess the Clear Lake fish are more reactionary than our bass here.
