Greg, fantastic video. I'm a 63 year older, new to the beard game & have a 1.5 month growth now. As a matter of fact, the last I'd sported one, I was in my 30s & a lot has changed since then. But THX to your explicit video, I feel I can reach a positive state with my beard grooming. I appreciate the step by step help and will put your knowledge to work. Hopefully, I can. Either way, even with my silver/white beard, I'm certain it will be 100% better looking.

What do you recommend for trimming the chin area? I’m trying to add length but my chin has really bulked up. I’m also at the stage where it is all growing under instead of down for now. Ugh

Yours is absolutely the best and yes I do wish my beard looked exactly like yours ,but it’s only been growing for 27 days and I’ve shaped it up two times . already so I’m gonna continue to apply some things that you’re suggesting excellent keep up the fine work.

Just tried to trim my 3 month old beard for the first time with trimmers. Took off way too much, especially the chin area. Now the chin looks too short compared to the rest of the face. Live and learn I guess. Great videos though.

Thanks Greg. *I do have regret right now* 👴😓 (although I thought I would be devastated but it's not bothering as much as I thought it would). I usually always have a beard but this time it was for a year and I kept it at about 6 months length trimming it myself. Sunday I was trying to trim the sideburns nice and short, but I just botched it up and then I tried to make the cheeks thinner and that was it...I kept messing up.. it didn't take long to realize the whole thing was coming off. So I shaved it clean. I have rosatia and My face still Burns in my cheeks a little bit, that's one of the reasons I always have a beard. I'm gonna grow it back but not go so long for now. By the way my wife don't like it that long, So she's happy.., Thanks for letting me share. Lol Anyway, yes brothers be careful.

I would do my research and find a good beard barber and have them clean it up. I won’t trust mine with my hands anymore. Every time I try to clean my beard up I end up taking off to much and then I shave it off. This time around I ended up just taking off the bare minimum and I think it looks nice.

@@michaelschuett Thank you Michael. Yeah, believe it or not I usually do a better job than the Barber I tried a few times. And 5 yrs ago there was another Barber whose nickname is 'the beard wizard' that I went to and he messed up my beard twice although the other 2 times I went he did a pretty decent job .But I definitely won't go back to him.. I usual do a good job with a scissor, once snip at a time, But this time I used my trimmers (Cordless Senior Clippers, professional ones) and I botched it up. I usually use them when I have a shorter beard . I tried something different. I wanted to make the sideburns really really short. . By the way, if there was someone around here (I would even drive an hour and a 1/2) that I knew for sure would do a better job than me, I would go to them. And I did my research but there's no one that I can definitely trust. If there was someone on KZbin that gave great beard trims that I liked I would go to them if they were close by. Thanks again.

@@yobabybubba i would definitely prefer to just use scissors instead of a trimmer ,even though more tedious, you’ll do alot less damage. Nice beard in your profile picture.

Yeah, I’ve noticed that where the trim starts to go wrong, most of the time, is with the sideburns. Because blending in the rest of the beard with them becomes a real hassle. That’s why I go easy on them.

Greg, I really appreciate your beard trimming videos. I recently started growing a beard for the first time in my life. What do you recommend for styling/taming the wild hairs in your beard...beard butter or balm? I have more grey hair in my beard than you and the grey hair is more stiff and tougher to control.
@GregBoswell428
@GregBoswell428 Жыл бұрын
I believe, first of all, that trimming the beard to the shape you want is the most important thing. That way, you don’t have to try too hard to style or tame it. Having said that, butter is great for daily use. It softens the beard and provides a little bit of weight which does make the beard somewhat more manageable without the stiffness. I usually use beard balm if I’m going somewhere nice and pictures are involved. Most balms are a little heavier and slightly stiff. In some cases, the weight is a little too noticeable However, Bossman Brands makes a softening beard balm that is one of the best in my opinion (GREG15).

Man, I wish I had seen this when it came out. Wasn't hearing much using the longest guard, so I went to the next one down 16mm to 12mm. Man that 4mm made a big difference. Audibly gasped and kept taking more off trying to even it out. Regret. A technical question, one side of my beard seems to misbehave along my jaw line. It looks even and clean, then as the day wears on it starts to curl up and I lose that straight edge. Any advice on how to keep the lines more clean? If that made any sense. I've tried using a comb to fluff it before passing over it again but that doesn't seem to do the trick. Thanks!

Great video that I am watching here in Germany. Moving to the USA and will be looking forward to some of the good products you use and hoping to get some of them somewhat cheaper than what they go for here. One can go broke buying things that are between 30-60% more expensive in Germany. Thanks for all the great tips. Stay safe, stay healthy, and get wealthy. Mit freundlichen Grüßen, Nicholas S.

I find we have the similar beard style. And features structure. Tho you look better bald than me. I tried the first head shave last summer while on 2w vacation. Luckily it grows back fast. I'm curious if you have any Norwegian in your family tree. As after riding my motorcycle back to Newfoundland a few years ago. And meeting my heritage for the first time. I found out that is where my Great x3 Grandfather immigrated (stow away) from. Lol.

Greg: Thank you for your videos, I'm 61 and have never grown a mustache and a Goatee and I have a question as to how long do you let it grow before you start to trim it. I've read where you let it grow without touching for 3-4 months and then trim so you can fully grow all the hair in, I'm curious as to what you think. Thanks again, the videos are great!
