Hey Randy, when my father was sick and diagnosed with “Cancer” in 2016 I stumbled across “The Allman Brothers “ on the radio ….he died of Cancer in 2017. I have been listening to the Allman Brothers Band almost everyday! Gregg’s solo stuff especially “Laid Back” just connected with me. I have watched the “Dan Rather” interview with Gregg at least 50 times….when he got older and spoke about all his stories it just did something to My soul that I can relate and just block and lock this aweful smelling world out, and just find comfort in his music! God Bless Gregg! I have watched “Dickey Betts” interview with Dan quite a bit as well! Dickey is my 2nd most favorite member. My Uncles served in Vietnam and just like you…I am so grateful and proud of y’all! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

This was filmed back on November 2, 2015... he was 67...and turned 68 on Dec 8, 2015... then a year later on 12/8/ 2016 would turn 69... then after New Years 2017... He knew that his health was declining... he already had a liver transplant a few years back, .and had Hep.C.. and was on Drs. medications... and had finished a book "My Cross to Bear" and did one last album "Southern Blood"....and was doing interviews... he knew his time was short... He ended up living with his last girlfriend of 5 years and married her in Feb. 2017....Shannon Williams 29 from Atlanta, Georgia she was the social media manager of Gregg Allman and Friends production co. He was 69. ..He would have turned 70... on 12/8/2017 if he had lived longer... He was very strong at the end and was tying up loose ends before he succumbed to the cancer in his second liver... He knew he was dying... but kept a good attitude at the end...

My God, has there really been any other singer who can bare his soul and pour it out with so much unbelievable passion and conviction than Brother Gregory Allman! To say he was graced with talent, to help him keep his demons at bay, is a grand understatement. The strength and power of this man's lyrical emotion travels beyond magnificent. This diamond, and Melissa, are his crowning achievements. So overwhelming sad when the news of his passing aired. This void can never be filled. For the love of all that is holy, this authentic legend will remain timeless because we have his music that he gave and left us with to enjoy, grieve and feel life. He rests forever with his beloved Brother Duane. God Bless The ABB
