@@GregSalazar Also, after you're done with working on the pc, you can exit from build mode, click the button to pick up the pc and it automatically shuts down, disconnects and picks up the PC, a small time save.

@@GregSalazar Another tip, make sure to look at all the PC you need to work on, and order the parts all at once. Since you're getting them from a distributor rather than from eBay/Craigslist (which the game features lol), shipping is calculated every time you check out, so if you order them separately each time you work on a rig, you'll end up adding up more and more shipping costs.

I love this game! Thought I might share some tips I find helpful when playing :) 1) I like to write down everything they mention wanting done along with their name. Keeps me organized and prevents me from forgetting anything lol. 2) when you are working on a PC the note that comes up on the screen has a second tab that let's you look at all the hardware currently installed on it. So if you go to that you can get the case name and pull that up in the store and it will tell you the max gpu length it will allow. These have saved me time and money on here which made the game that much more enjoyable. Hope it helps! Keep up the awesome content man!

So in playing this expansion, it looks like that parts listing isn't there anymore. Makes finding case specs more difficult lol
@jtenorj2 жыл бұрын
@@DragonEye435 You can see it in the video. At the bottom of each email is a button called PC Stats which will bring up a list of parts in a client PC. Greg just never clicks it. After you know what case they have(before it's even delivered since you can look at the email the day before), you can look up their case in the store which will list max GPU length and PSU length(among other things like radiator support for custom water cooling or AIOs, as well as max CPU cooler height for air coolers and supported motherboard sizes) and order a part that will fit in the case the day before using next day shipping so it arrives when their PC does. Obviously if you have to diagnose one or more broken parts you have to wait to order replacement until after a PC is already in shop unless the email makes it painfully obvious which part is broken. But yeah, it's still in there.
@Toesmasher3 жыл бұрын
Friendly tip: “upgrade” a part means more expensive. Not actually better. IE: Someone wanting an upgrade from a 550w power supply might not actually want an 850w unless it’s worth more brand new. This is important to note for GPU upgrades, since prices in the game store never change, newer parts might have a lower msrp and register as worse in game.
@GregSalazar3 жыл бұрын
Ah, gotcha. Interesting point. Wasn't sure if the game already accounted for this.

@@asimepuse that’s true. But that list is basically a price lists. You don't really have to run a scan each time. Either the email will strongly hint at the need, or more vaguely. To answer your question in component size, I was playing the non IT expansion a week or so ago, got up to getting 10 jobs per day, and no, if the MB is too big for the case or the PSU is the wrong kind, it lists it as incompatible. I assume the same goes for the GPU, but I have not gotten a smaller build yet in that non IT expansion DLC. I agree with Dragon Eye's comment below, definitely need to write stuff down to keep track of everything when you are doing 10+ jobs per day, esspecially if you are trying to list out all the hardware you need to order in for the next day so you pay 1 lot of shipping for $5000 in parts. A few times I ended up missing the parts I needed for 1 or 2 jobs because I was not writing down what I needed to order. Result: those jobs were delayed by 1 day waiting for stock.

if there was a way to have a sticky note on the PC you are working on, it helps keep track of the job and not miss out the secondary items to do. the EVGA GTX 1060 GPU not fitting was a pleasant surprise since that should fit into the ITX case and you so just happens to have the other GPU you took out was just god send. the OG career was like a home based IT support and now you work for a company providing IT support which is a nice change of pace.

I noticed on the day when you had the Boss' PC and another, that you installed the Kleenit Pro, but didn't run the software (he asked to 'give it a once over'). You did discover that you forgot to do the memory upgrade on the Boss' PC though. Details matter, it wouldn't hurt to recheck before you send machines off. BTW, the Boss says he's a patient man, not woman (I was confused by this as well). You referred to 'HER compact case' BTW - when the Boss' PC came back, I would have perhaps considered to upgrade the memory.

I know the original career mode has something called the Cloud Notes app available in game. I haven't started the IT expansion yet, but is it not available in that game mode as well? I've created a template that I copy/paste to multiple notes. The first field is for Client Name, followed by type of job(Diagnose/Fix/Repair/Replace by default, or things like various upgrades, New PCs meeting various requirements, physical and/or software cleaning, colored cables, favored manufacturers, and more). Then I list the parts budget and labor pay. Finally I have a parts list(CPU, HSF, AIO, Mobo, Ram, GPU, GPU, SSD, HDD, PSU, Case, and fans). Basically, it's the list on the left side of the shop app. I list GPU twice because sometimes a client is rocking two different models of the same basic graphics card.

Hi Greg I have an RTX 2080 Ti that I've RMA'd 4 times, it's been repaired once and I'm still getting issues. It got tested today at the store I purchased it off and they said it has no issues. They just benchmarked it, they didn't play any games. I was able to complete a benchmark without any issues. - I got the issues while playing games. They said It sat at 75 degrees in an open test bench - that seems pretty hot to me? The issues I am getting is Black screen, and the fans will ramp up INSANELY when I load up a game or am in a few minutes in. The card gets SO hot and I have an Evolv X with the best possible fan setup. I took all the panels off and glass off my case and It'll go 85 degrees with 100% fan speed playing a game like Cold War and the clocks start to drop, I'll get stutters and it's just not a good experience. What am I able to do?!!?! I've had nothing but issues since I got the card, I've put a new PSU, CPU, RAM, Motherboard. I've reinstalled windows, reverted drivers etc etc. What could it be?!?!
