A mate of mine shouted a group of us Sizzler when he won a packet on Doriemus in the 1995 Caulfield Cup. Still remember how difficult it was to navigate the salad bar with a hundred beers under the belt.

Sizzler was a real institution of the 90s, they were everywhere in Sydney, now there is only one left in all of NSW. Too many horror stories of boogers in the salad bar.

We used to go there regularly as the salad bar was our fave...our son was a toddler and loved the garbanzo beans. (AKA chickpeas) He started choking on one, so without thinking, i turned him face down on my legs, knocked it right out of him on the back, and the entire restaurant clapped and cheered for us. I will always remember this!!!👏🏼
