It’s a shame that they spent millions of dollars on these puppets and they deleted these wonderful scenes. They do a better job at giving personality to these creatures since each character has very little screen time.

I can see why the scene was cut down. It’s too long with too much exposition from Dracula and not all of the effects on the gremlins look finished here. The pacing is just off

@@Dhampir101980That's true. However, I'm glad we can see these out-takes because we get to hear Dracula repeatedly point out that the Gremlins are "writhing", which he seems to really enjoy.

I think they were cut because of how long that scene would have been, and also because the overly long death scene for the more liked gremlins would have been too upseting to some viewers. Brain Gremlin received a more comical death to upset how likable he was too, while stripe who is completely evil and focused heavily on torturing Gizmo could afford his horrible death cause it was more sattisfying as a revenge

Sometimes it's still not a good idea since these scenes were cut for various reasons such as breaking continuity or disturbing the flow of the film and sometimes they're ideas that just didn't work at all.

Yeah. It's a common practice in film when the music hasn't been scored yet to insert music from other films to emphasize the emotion of the scene during early cuts. For example, in Ghostbusters' preview cut, they added Elmer Bernstein's score from Stripes in some scenes since he didn't finish composing the score for the film yet.

@ I forgot where I found it but this is from an old conceptual idea used in a script and storyboard I believe. Probably found it from the Gremlins Wiki ( This was having Lenny turn against them when George ordered him to put Gizmo in the oven but instead put him inside, making him end up just like the one Haskin from the first movie.

@@PadLocky_v2 hey I found it on there thanks again it reads “In a storyboard draft, Lenny was originally meant to suddenly switch sides and protect Gizmo by attacking his fellow gremlins George and Mohawk, pushing them into an oven and killing them. This scene was cut and never filmed because it was too dark compared to the rest of the film. Had this happened, Lenny could have been the first Gremlin to turn away from evil”.

It was sad enough that the Brain Gremlin didn't survive, but watching Lenny, George and Daffy (well maybe not so much Daffy, he tried to hurt Billy) melt was pretty disheartening. If they ever do another Gremlins film, I would love it if these three were reincarnated, the same way Mohawk was a reincarnation of Stripe, from the first film.
