I didn't know you could direct like this 😂 I always thought it was quiet as hell on set
@Leprutz

Not at all. It depends on the scene. If there is no originl sound like actors taking, but it is mostly physical or expressive, that is how you direct. Danny Boyle directs like this too. I believe even Tarantino does this. Even kubrick directed like this. It just depends on the scenes.

Yeah i remember this scene it’s all mostly music in a montage so if that’s the case, the set doesn’t have to be that quiet.

@@jon-vegard8386 Wrong. You are confusing sound design with dialogues. Sync sound captures all the words said by actors. Silence is the key in all these shoots. Only few minutes montage or Mise-en-scène in the movie will be directed this way like Greta is doing here.

Understanding this as unplanned is wrong. Here is the right way to put it. Sequence is fixed. Scenes are kept open. Script is fixed. Staging is kept open to exploit the nuances provided by the location and surroundings.

Because personally I think of it what I think of Taylor Swift and a lot of pop culture today it is girls playing out their fantasies Which is fine but it’s done in a very righteous and very selfish way. @@waynedurning8717 You sure you want to ask women why a movie spoke to them? Sure that wouldn't be us "imposing" ourselves upon you? See I didn't get the point of Top Gun or Transformers at all, and my solve was to just enjoy what I enjoyed and leave the rest alone. You won't find me in the comments on those videos trying to shame boys for liking it. That's all that's happened here. Someone liked a movie you didn't like (if you even watched it). That's all that happened. The movie isn't evil for existing, it's not an attack on you, and you projecting a bunch of weird pseudo-psychoanalasys onto people who liked a thing doesn't make you look smart. Thing about this movie is that it's a coming of age story that heavily focuses on a daughter and mother struggling to connect. Why that speaks to people is going to be personal, and not everyone on the internet is going to want to bare their hearts to you.

They did it this way so later they have more footage than expected for this scene that kinda looks like a montage. In the edit room they can cut whatever they want. Another thing is that this scene in real life would be really spontanic, don't you think? I guess the actors only knew the outline of this scene and the director chose to not really give actors a script for this scene and instead she made it just as spontanic and not planned as this kind of having fun would be in real life. Methodical and brilliant.

I studied film, but left because the industry in my homecountry is incredibly toxic. Lots of yelling, shaming ect. I have seen people crying in some corner way too many times. And before you say we are too sensitive, you can have 14-16 hour days sometimes. You sleep little and wirk very closely with each other. People get yelled at for completly stupid things, that they didn't even do. There is much pressure and fear. And you try to be calm and friendly anyway, so the actors don't see how you feel, so they can perform better. Until it overflows and after 1-2 weeks people start crying. I know many that left the industry. Me included. I would gladly work for her though. Or any director who is like her. Many have narcissistic traits, so it's nice to see someone being actually warm on set.
