This was around the time I first "discovered" GVF. Thought they were fabulous at the time, but listening to the way they sound now it's unbelievable how much they've improved. As much as I love their new sound, I do miss the rawness of their old sound. Unfortunately, Josh's voice would wear out and he had to make some changes to be able to maintain his voice. He sounds much clearer and less pitchy now, but some of the unique character of his voice was lost in the process. Kudos to Danny for being most improved. His drumming is stellar now!

Awesome show! Lover Leaver is definitely the live show song that lets the guys indulge in some blues/improv. The Muddy Waters cover, Rollin' and Tumblin', was a good sandwich middle for the blues rock jam. KROQ rocks!!!

Я первый фанат россиянин. Могу сказать с уверенностью ни чего подобного давненько не было и многим показалось что хип хоп и рэп конечная стадия музыкальной эволюции, но к счастью great van fleet опровергает все прогнозы. respekt!

There is nothing stupid about you or your post. Some people are just nasty and have nothing better to do. Insulting people makes them feel better about themselves because they have no joy in their own life. I appreciate your post. I listened to them my first time within the past week (I know, ha ha... 😐) and I swear, since then, I am their number one fan! 😂 I am glad we share the same fantastic taste in music! Music makes the world a much better place! Thank you for sharing your thoughts! I appreciate hearing what you think! Держите это в покое!

Absolutely the best version of Lover, Leaver they have done to date. Solo work was in check like never before with this song. You can really hear the heavy influence of Jimmy Page. They only time they really crushed that song, in my opinion. I’m pretty sure they had also never played that song for 20 mins either. Phenomenal performance.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIm4oox8m5mFnLM - At 26:34 definitely the longest (they weaved Brave New World into it) and, in my opinion, their best. It's dated June 14, 2018, so it predates the KROQ performance. I'd prefer Josh stand back and give the other guys some room, not feel like he has to screech over them all the time, but Jake was absolutely in the zone on this one. I saw them play this live in Dallas in Oct 2018 and Jake played it pretty much the same way. What a treat it was to see them play like this the first time I saw them live. It was hair raising! I've watched this clip about once a month for 3-4 years, now, and Jake's chirpy harmonics at 23:00 and glissando at 23:51 still give me the chills. It never gets old. Enjoy!
