Anthony Fantano summed it up best by saying that it’s nothing to do with their musicianship or production, it simply comes down to their lack of originality. They have no creativity, they just keep trying to sound more and more like Led Zeppelin rather than creating their own identity. They are a cover band without the covers.

Yeah I really don’t understand the hate anymore. The singer feels every note of the tune in his soul, the guitar player knows that they’re creating magic, the piano player appreciates the fact that you can hear every note he’s playing and he’s not just a background part of the track, and that drummer is so fundamentally sound. They’re an extremely talented group.

Sure I hear Led Zeppelin,a bit of Rush and on their heavier songs Josh has frontman qualities of the Great Bon Scott of AC/DC. I've just discovered GVF from people mocking them on TicToc. Wow, what a great BAND. That's right, a BAND with instruments and real talent. I get the comparisons to other power rock singers, but why do people say it's a rip off? It's his voice, he didn't steal his voice, that's what it is, and it's incredible. Their musical capabilities are amazing. The only comparison to the classic power rockers should be that there hasn't been a band as good as this since Led Zep / Queen days. People mock his actions on stage. I guess it's better to have no clothes on and just repeat vulgarities about modern pop culture over pre-recorded loop tracks.

Rafa Said A band has to have their own sound and voice. Fortunately for GVF they came out at the right time. If it was the 70's 80's, 90's or early 2000's they would of lasted a year popularity and faded out.

Was sitting in a bar last night and heard Always There. I'd heard plenty of GVF before, and obviously heard the Zepplin influence. But something about Always There REALLY felt like Zepplin. It took me a minute or two to realize that it was GVF, and ONLY because I realized it wasn't Bonzo drumming. It's freaking uncanny... and excellent. I never got to experience Zepplin live (I'm 37), but my dad was a huge fan, and he played them all the time, until I was old enough to play the albums myself. Love it all.

I love this new content because in most of the tracks on this album he spends most of the song in this smooth voice that your just vibing to, then, he comes in with his growl near the END of the song. Almost like he's dangling it at you, making you want to hear him bust it out but it doesn't come-but when it does it's the most satisfying blast of vocal heaven you've ever heard. It really puts the music on a high pedestal, he makes you wait for the good stuff. I've listened to this song over and over for about two weeks now and it hasn't gotten old.

I’ve been listening to rock n roll since the 1960s. Rock is all about “standing on the shoulders of giants” it always has been. GVF proudly wear their influences on their sleeves, nothing wrong with that; their influences did the same before them. At the end of the day though, GVF writes great songs and plays them with passion and skill and the results are beautiful.

This album has literally pulled me out of a depressive episode. I was so ground down working the covid unit at my hospital, overtime every week and I was just trudging through every week to fall back in bed for a few days and do it all over. I discovered GVF because of the tiktok mockery and looked them up. This album, and in particular this song have been on CONSTANT repeat and running through my head even in my sleep. I’ve never experienced music that literally soothes my soul and heals my psyche like this. I feel so expansive and hopeful and happy in a way I haven’t felt in months. We joke about GVF having the pick of destiny, but in all seriousness there has to be something paranormal in this masterpiece. It doesn’t make any sense.

Clearly you're a fanboy and nothing anyone says will change your mind on how good u think they are. Despite them having no real commercial success and a lot of ppl not liking them I'm not sure how they could be one of the greatest of all time lol.....oh because u like them lol lol

@David Wang whoa there cowboy....u just wrote the dumbest shit ever. Before u rant my friend you should make sure you understand a person's comment. At no point did I say that person should change their mind about liking the band.... Which is CLEARLY what is YOU thought I meant. My comment was in regards to the "gvf is one of the greatest bands of all time already".... That's what a fanboy says because clearly gvf isn't near the greatest bands of all time. This is why I pointed out their commercial success blah blah. Ppl who like something sooooo much that for no reason other than because they like it..... They'll say something is the greatest of all time... With nothing to base it on. See..... Comprehend a person's comment before you rant buddy...... Not to mention wtf is doing with you? Why are you ranting on my comment.... Then shit that has NOTHING to do with this comment section..... Religion and politics and your hate for trump..... Seriously what the fuk is wrong with you? Please don't even bother answering cause I'm sure it'll be nonsense. Good day.

Back in the old days there were much fewer distractions (cell phones, games, FB, etc.), and a musician found it so much easier to actually dedicate lots of time to perfecting their craft, like practicing their guitar for 6 hours a day for months on end.

@@durapoker How are you defining commercial success, exactly? They won a grammy (Best Rock Album 2019), they have multiple songs achieve placement on the Billboard charts, and they sell their music and concert tickets regularly. People like them and they have fans. It's okay if you don't like them and aren't a fan, there are certainly plenty of bands and musical artists that I don't like (I like GVF FYI), but making blanket statements ("no commercial success") have to be based on facts (yours wasn't) if you're going to use it as an argument...

I know Van Skip! Right? Same thing, but I found them 'bout a month ago, believe it or not, by way of seeing GVF referred to in comments on a diff vid of another new rock-n-roll band, 3 girls from Belfast, Ireland!!!! 2 sisters and a friend 🤷go figure, what's goin' ON?!?! 😜 LOVE that rock is getting a hand up from a very long nap!!? 😱 These guys r the REAL DEAL!!! 🌪️👀🌪️👀🌪️👀 And check out Dea Matrona! These girls are sooo cool....they've had an EP out and I think their 2nd is available NOW! TBH, I have been pre-occupied with GVF for the past month, so I've missed Dea Matrona's stuff they've been working on. They do covers and their originals, which are amazing. They do covers of 60's,70's music...ie. Hendrix, Beatles, Black Sabbath, LZep, Joni Mitchell, Bonnie Rait, and Fleetwood Mac, soooo you can see their wide range of talent. Their originals create their own new sound of rock/country rock, and just like GVF, they have been influenced, but through musical talent and ability, created their own sound! The 3,2 sisters and a friend, of them, the 1 sister & friend do the vocals and harmonies that are right-on!!! Sorry to be goin' on about Dea Matrona in the comments of GVF, I don't think they'd mind, bc they go together like PB&J😂 that's how I got GVF's name, bc the guy suggested that it would be cool if DM opened for GVF🤷Ya never know....so if you're listening guys (GVF), give the girls across the pond a call....I'll be at that concert with bells on, for real!!!?? 😜🌪️👀🌪️👀🌪️😱🌪️👀🌪️👀😱🌪️👀😱

I LOVE this band!! The first time I heard them I said, "DAMN, they sound a lot like Led Zeppelin...a modern day Zeppelin." I'm a Ledhead, so I'm totally down with these guys. Their sound is raw yet refined, powerful yet subtle, heavy yet ethereal. The energy they emanate is almost transcendental (not dissimilar from Zeppelin). The soulfulness that Josh pours forth when he sings is sagacious, and gives me goosebumps. I really enjoy how cohesive their sound is, but at the same time, each instrument is heard distinctly. Yeah...these fellas have a killer sound!! And they are bringing REAL rockNroll, genuine talent, and sheer magic back to the music industry! And they are doing it practically single-handedly! There's no other band out there like them currently. I support them most avidly. Bring on the RockNRoll fellas!! We are lovin it!!❤❤❤❤Hell to the yes!!
