GRETA VAN FLEET has received a blessing from rock's mountain top, winning the endorsement of Led Zep singer Robert Plant. In an interview this week with Australia's Network Ten, the iconic front man promptly cited Greta Van Fleet when asked about up-and-coming bands he appreciates. "They are Led Zeppelin I," Plant said. Describing 21-year-old Josh Kiszka as "a beautiful little singer," the 69-year-old Plant playfully added: "I hate him." Interviewer Ryan Fitzgerald went on to note Kiszka's "huge voice." "Yeah, and he borrowed it from somebody I know very well!" Plant responded. "But what are you going to do? That's OK."

I am an old school rocker andI LOVE GRETA My teenage daughter turned me on to Greta about a year ago. We got to see them live in Sept 2022. Oh my they are truly the real deal!! They are a mix of Queen, Zeppelin and Rush but still have their own sound!! And they are just as good live if not better live!! They truly are an experience for all age groups!! Love your reaction!! So good

Good first song choice. A lot of people seem to listen to their earlier stuff first and form an impression, but they are a young band and their sound is evolving fairly quickly.

These guys grew up in the bean farming area of Michigan's "thumb". Not much to do there but listen to the parent's extensive record collection and practice in the garage. It has paid off!

The three brothers' fathar plays harmonica in a Blues band. He has performed some Blues songs with them at concerts in the past. So growing up they were constantly exposed to The Blues. As their friend, the drummer was similarly influenced. He also plays guitar, by the way. The lead singer and lead guitarist are twins. The bassist/keyboardist is the third brother and the youngest of the group. Their early stuff sounded a lot like Led Zep which caused them to receive a lost of undeserved negative backlash. Of course they would have a similar sound because of their foundation in the Blues roots of Rock music. By now they have arrived at their own sound and style.

I absolutely love the lyrics: “We do not fight for war, but the lives of those who do so”. Really hits home emotionally what the band and The Peaceful Army represent. What I love most about The Battle at Garden’s Gate, is the storytelling in the poetic lyrics; the ethereal, spiritual, and emotional music, and the message of love, peace and unity. The music video for Heat Above really does look like it was filmed in the 70s. From the set design, the emphasized color scheme of white and gold to represent purity, and the cinematography that conveys a spiritual theme of choosing peace and love over violence and war where possible.

They are VERY MUCH a modern band . Indeed these guys are EXACTLY what POP-ROCK needs right now. Bring the the old school , charismatic and raw talent back to finally stimulate a new generation of dead musical ears that have been too long stupefied by over processed , over quantize'd, and over auto tuned ,overnight wonders. You better listen you young musicians. While social media is full of one night stands seeking to be the next flash in the pot. These guys are giving you free lessons in how to become the next legend!! I think your analysis was dead on. I have always felt Freddie mercury vibes from this guy. But if you are going to emulate anyone ..can you think of anyone better to strive for? !
