Also Bob Dylan in like 1999; Brian Setzer Orchestra opened for him, but we were late and missed them, but didn't care. He played the first two songs looking like a stiff breeze might blow him over, but then on the 3rd song he switched to some funky uptempo blues and started jumping around and duck walking and everything. It gives me a little hope for my twilight years.

I was born in 1964 and had never heard Greta Van Fleet until today when I stumbled upon this Act 3 performance. I have seen shows at Red Rocks and this must have been stunning to experience live. I was unexpectedly drawn into the visually aural operatic display. I am left with the impression that J.R.R. Tolkien was dozing in a magical underworld and dreamt that Led Zeppelin and Rush birthed this vivacious rock and roll ensemble. Huzzah!

I don't get why people hate on these guys... they're vastly talented and have done incredible things at such young ages. Every great rock band has some quirks, but they stand on their own with a growing catalog of original music.
@masternippleblaster Жыл бұрын
Was wondering where do you see the originality? Talented, yes... Young? No doubt but catalogue of "original music"? Hardly. More of a "...we got vintage instruments, and Josh kinda reminds/sounds like Plant anyway... Hey dude, let's make LZ inspired music" What a brilliant idea! Look, no disrespect and soooooo many did that one way or the other - The Black Crowes, Rival Sons, The Black Keys, Royal Blood and many other but all of them did it with far more taste and skill - in all aspects: music, lyrics, composition... If we would talk about GVF as a LZ cover band, I would be blown away and I have no doubt that their successes would be guarantied, but piggyback riding LZ so bluntly and openly is hardly original for more than obvious reasons. "Safari Song" being a prime example of "shake'n'bake song and how GVF operates - lots of lovin', mama, lady, hazy-lazy and some other overly explored shenanigan's, cleverly produced vintage sound... Nothing original here - even the recipe is old: Shrewd management, pinpoint accuracy, sensible goods turned into another hype which, by all measures, will soon replaced by another... Like The Jet, James Blunt, Goyte And Kimbra, La Roux... "For all the other bands they claim as influences but deny Led Zeppelin was a major one, I have only seen them dressed up like Led Zeppelin and doing shows of Led Zeppelin songs. Not once have I seen them perform a show of any other bands."
@Tityretupatulae Жыл бұрын
@@masternippleblasterthey are very original compared to the same old indie/alternative rock music that has been made for 30 years now. And don’t get me started on the over hyped psych bands sounding all the same (talking about all the Australian tame Impala clones), and even worse the British/Irish post punk revivalists, or even the other classic rock sounding bands like rival sons, GVF has surely a more diversified sonic palette and in barely 5 years they have put out 4 very different albums, rhythm section still under 25 years of age.

It has been years since I got into a new band - GVF did it. Classic sound - like they have been around for ages - high vocals , cool guitar interludes, great songs , cool lyrics - pure showmanship - it’s all there.

Their albums are already good, but mark my words, before the end of what I hope is a very LONG career- they are going to make an album that will shape music for decades to come.

I have always been a classic rock fan. l prophesy...this shall enter into the gates of heaven and the rock and roll hall of fame. I don't like to compare band. Some argue they sound like Led Zeppelin, well I happen to love Zeppelin and that is probably the reason I love this band. Don't let this sound die out! Led Zeppelin is great, but so is GRETA VAN FLEET. And if this is reminiscent of Zeppelin to you...Let it be so. But don't miss the sound of a band, that is surely to become a classic.
@jasminazenkovic4195 Жыл бұрын
You nailed it, I'm also a huge Zeppelin fan, and feel exactly the same way you do regarding let it be what it is to you, and especially to not miss out on the sound that is surely to become a classic. I truly believe they saved rock n' roll, and they have begun what is the revolution back into vintage, classic roots rock, love, peace and nature, not overly prefabricated pop & top 40--this is here to stay! Thank you for your comment, I had to write you:) glad we share the same passion for this style of rock n' roll:)

8:00 the crowd increasingly gets louder knowing Jake’s solo is coming. 10:07 he is so into what he’s playing…watch his body movement! Then, of course nothing can match the ending. Chills!!!

Black Flag Exposition: Absolute throwback to 60's artistry. No backing tracks, no autotune, no computers - just lights, visuals, and 4 extremely talented musicians on an outdoor stage with exceptional sound engineering. Jake is on the way to becoming one of the greats - as in Jimi, Page, SRV, and Prince. Sam's driving bass and his 5 note bass line on the Mellotron is beyond awesome. That 5 note bass line coupled with Danny's beastly drumming is the soul of the performance. And Jake, well there are no words, just complete amazement and wonder.

Hearing The Weight of Dreams was honestly a letdown compared to hearing one of the greatest songs they’ve ever done with Black Flag Exposition! I’m just waiting for them to release either this live performance as an album or another live performance to listen to the song without random interruptions in the middle of the song on here lol
