Ha! Rival Sons, was a band my buddy turned me on to 2 years ago, freakin amazing band with a gritty Zep vibe. I just found these guys and immediately sent links to my buddy to pay him back, I'd say we are even?

I was turned onto these guys through the Rival Sons fan page on Facebook. Been following the Sons for years and made several great friends due to the online community. Word got around fast through there about GVF. Spread the Love brother!

Doug, I consider myself a extreme fan of Led Zeppelin, and many of their cover bands. I like this band, and I'm very eager to hear some more from them, However to call them unique and different is just not true. They sound like a cover band making some new generic tunes. By the way that's great as far as I'm concerned. This emulation of Led Zeppelin has been done before, try Kingdom Come, or Great White as examples of bands that did original songs that sounded like Zeppelin. By the way Led Zeppelin themselves were hardly original on at least the first 2 albums, they clearly borrowed from some bands, but they had a unique sound, that was improved on even more by having the best produced albums, since The Beatles, and Pink Floyd. This Greta band is not at that point, but they have great potential. Regardless of any of that I enjoy all 4 songs on the EP.

These guys have a lot going for them, but let me recommend them just one thing. You obviously can write like the Zep, but take that and now move in a direction all your own. Black Smoke Rising does that moreso, although a touch Heart(ish). Please keep going and make a full length and push your boundaries! Amazing first recordings!
