Her backstage request at concerts is for water, Jack Daniels and peanuts. She said in an interview she bought her house based on how close it was to Wal-Mart. I love her.

Rock music never dies: it simply shifts over to country when it gets kicked off of the pop charts.

Gretchen freaking brings the house down. It isn't a country song but on your own time give a listen to Barracuda by her and Alice n Chains. Nancy Wilson even plays guitar. Gretchens voice is AMAZING in that song/video. And yes. I get what you mean when you say that is what Rock lost. I grew up in the late 70's early 80's and southern rock is my genre for sure.

Hey you all, I'm in for the vote of Good Has I Once Was by Toby Keith. You got to watch the video, its great fun. Everyone hit the like icon. Great fun with this one.
@juliamangan94752 жыл бұрын
Part of the lyrics are directed at the haters. When she first got into the music business people were calling her fat because her curves weren't as defined as they are in this video but not fat by a long shot.

Her songs When I Think About Cheatin and Homewrecker are two of my favorites. Now, that first one, I know you two would have some pretty strong opinions and I'd love to hear em.

I was thinking the same. I love homewrecker and sounds like she was channeling Loretta.... haha

Before she was discovered, Gretchen was a bartender in Pocahontas Illinois. I love her first 2 albums. Two of my favorites from her, other than Redneck Woman, and the one y'all just reacted to is One Bud Wiser and Skoal Ring. Keith you're on it this week pal! Here for the Party is what is missing from Rock music, it was missing from music period in my opinion. Y'all seemed to really enjoy this one and reactions were awesome. I'm not a bourbon snob but I'm real picky when it comes to color. Really light or pale bourbons worry me. But I've got y'all to tell me if they are good enough😁

Damn, I forget how good Gretchen Wilson actually is. Talent. Charisma. Hell, an actually personality. A shame Nashville felt they were better off without the Muzik Mafia.

I love the "diversity"of country music. The evolution of country music speaks volumes of how much we love all forms the genre has taken. Country radio doesn't necessarily follow those of us who love country music, but hopefully we can all follow our evolution through the decades. From the church pews to Bluegrass, from "traditional" to rock and roll, from New age to country rap we can all find our home in the differences country music has taken

Yessss..... I graduated high school in 1983 and the Rock motto back then was Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll.... The lyrics in the songs expressed just that. The 80's is still my most favorite music era ever!!!!! Tho Gretchen does have a pool table in her home and loves to play pool.
@dawnr63812 жыл бұрын
I grew up in the 80s and only listened to rock music. When the 90s came along and the radio station by me started playing mostly grunge music. I slowly started listening to country because it sounded closer to the rock music I liked.

You guys should just enjoy the song for what it is and quit trying to read things into lyrics that almost certainly aren't intended. Gretchen spent a lot of years working and performing in bars, many of which had pool tables. "Eight ball" is a pool game . . . can you just take it at face value? And "gonna have a little fun . . . gonna get me some" might just be referring to "get me some fun." Having said that, I'm glad you like this tune. It's one of my faves . . . and Gretchen is one of the best singers in the music biz.
