NOTE: I don't think I explained it well in the video. At 13:30 I cover installation issues I had while trying to fit a Dlask receiver with a Kidd trigger group into the chassis. The front lugs of the Dlask do not taper down as quickly as other 10/22 receivers. This creates some issues with some stocks and chassis. The BX trigger group has less material in the rear than the Kidd, which allows the Dlask receiver to slip into this chassis..

Wow, the folding stock you “purchased” isn't up to their expectation yet so they sent you a fixed stock at no charge in the interim? That's class. Sounds like an awesome company!

I learned a whole bunch from you in this video. Thanks so much for all that education. As always, you hit the ball out (metaphor warning) of the park with this and other videos. I will ensure my junior shooters ‘like and subscribe’ to your channel. Hopefully we will be out on the ranges once this emergency ‘stay at home’ order subsides. All the Best!!

Great review, thank you for taking the time! I really, really wanted to like the GB Foundation but I just can't get past the fugly looks. In my eyes anyway. I ended up going with the SBI chassis and just ordered it yesterday. Would be interested in seeing your full review on the SBI chassis as well!

Great video as usual. Thank you for the content and overview. I have been looking at picking one up for my Dlask DAR 22 as they look sweet and lightweight. I am also hoping for a longer forend and the folding adapter to be ready before I buy. I have been using the Axiom Stock so I can shorten the LOP for my kids and it was the lightest weight stock at the time. LOP can go from 10" - 14"+. Mine is 5 lbs 0.5 oz with a 12.5" medium profile Dlask barrel and a Leupold 2-7 scope, pic and arca rails. One thing to be aware of is keeping it over 26" to remain NR. I was told a 17.1" barrel for the folding version and ~8.5" barrel for the folding setup. Although it's only 1 screw holding the fixed stock in place, the use of a tool to remove it should keep it NR.

The short forend and the way they cut the arca rail are my least favorite thing about the chassis so far (for my shooting disciplines). I'm impressed with the overall design and machining. You make a good point with the barrel length and folding stock, definitely the responsibility of the shooter to stay within the law. I'm interested to see how rigid the folding adapter will be!

One feature the folding stock has is the ability to lock out the folder using the main attachment bolt thru both parts of the knuckle instead of just the receiver side of the knuckle.

Confirming Dlask Tuff 22 receiver with Timney Trigger runs into the same fitment problem as the Kidd trigger. Appreciate the comment on the front lugs and maybe I will have to grind the receiver down a bit. Has anyone else had any luck with that? It seems like either the rear trigger housing has to be shaved down, or the front lugs on the receiver. Not sure how much material of either I'd ultimately have to remove, and am more nervous about any hidden springs in the back of the trigger. If I install the trigger with no pins, everything fits no problem.

I compared GB chassis to Spectre 10/22 Chassis Gen2 before, but I chose the Spectre 10/22 chassis. Spectre have 2 set screws on the receiver which makes it more reliable and rigid. Moreover it can use AR15 grip, tube, casstle nuts and stock which I have quite a few hanging around since the stupid OIC. Hope you can do the side by side comparison in the near future.

Folding stock didn’t come, multi colour anodisation, can’t fit with my Kidd trigger, 50’ lbs tightening, weird screws, can’t slide bipod off arcs rail, typos.... seems like they got 70% the way there but it would be great if they had sorted it fully. It actually looks promising if they fix some things and release it with the longer fore end.

I’m pretty sure it’s the dlask receiver front lugs that are causing the issue, not the trigger group. The BX trigger pack just gives more clearance for the receiver to slide passed.

@@shootingwithtony7418 No issues with Kidd, Timney or Ruger triggers with the chassis. The issue is with the geometry of the Dlask receiver which we will be looking into in the future. Factory Ruger receivers are also fully compatible with our chassis. On the anodization, we are going with Hard clear anodize which can have small variations between batches. This was known and intentional. We chose to go this was as we like the way clear hard anodize highlights the grains the metal, similar to a nice piece of wood. As for the ARCA slot, it has also been addressed by some of our sponsored shooters.

Other shooters have confirmed their dlask receivers fit different. Apparently spectre ballistics even has a different inlet for the dlask receiver. The front receiver lip doesn't taper down as quickly which makes it harder to fit into some inlets I believe.

Good day sir... Just wanted to ask your opinion... Looking into buying a precision .22lr. I have the greybirch in mind for a long time however the price is really steep. However my 2nd option is the savage a22 with the mdt chassis.. Its about half the price.. Is it a day and night thing between those two? Just wanted to know your insights about the savage a22 if it is even worth it? Or just save and get the greybirch. Thank you... Your inputs will be much appreciated.

The A22’s I’ve shot have been pretty good, the only thing that lets it down is the trigger. If i’m not mistaken the GB rifles come with a Kidd trigger which are amazing. Unless you’re looking for a lightweight build specifically, the Foundation stock is not the best option for PRS style matches, the MDT would be better. you could always get the GB barreled action and drop it into another chassis or stock though .
@randulff

@@Womfat thank you so much for the insights... For recreational shooting... I kinda like the savage since it takes a buttler creek mag where as the GB only takes a compatible 10/22 which here in canada means 10 rnds only. @Womfat 3 жыл бұрын
The entire rifle weight as seen in the video is about 5.8lbs. With a carbon barrel and light weight scope, it could be a great set up for a youth shooter, as long as the LOP is short enough. Minimum LOP with the buttstock collapsed is 13"
