The rear screw is for the Kidd receivers which have a rear tang, I watched a video where Bravo suggested they would likely come out with a clamp of some sort to bolt on there that somehow would clamp the rear of tang-less receivers in, however it is not out yet to my knowledge I have checked back with him a few times encouraging him to come out with it, any one interested should do the same :) maybe we can convince him to speed up production on it ;)

Great video. Thank you for showing the Victor Co Titan and Oryx chassis. I already have a 10/22 in the Magpul stock and one in the Victor Co Titan stock. I have been looking at the McMillan A5 stock, Oryx chassis and now the KRG option for a new project

I see that you have commented on other replies. So, i will add that this rifle will be more for positional shooting like Mapleseed (Appleseed here in the states) and the barrel will be a 16" Grey Birch Solutions barrel. I'm liking the shorter forend of the KRG bravo stock for use with the shorter barrel

I was able to pick up the krg bravo Ruger 10/22 stock just before Christmas. Mine came with one spacer that's about twice the size of the regular spacers. I did purchase krg's butt pad to put behind the spacer for a better length of pull for my two adult daughters. My stock did not come with the flush cup hardware or front sling adapter like the regular krg bravo does. I too noticed the sharp edges where your middle finger lies behind the trigger, I will have to smooth that out somehow. I was into Anarchy Outdoors last week and learned they're about ready to release a magazine well for the CZ 457 that has slope sides to fill in the gaps, helping to seat the Mag better. This may be something Dory would be interested in for her CZ.

Any interest in trying a Spectre Ballistics chassis? They've got an extra screw to help stiffen the receiver so you're not only relying on the action screw.

The KRG Bravo 10/22 is supposed to accept the Kidd action with the Kidd rear tang screw. I'm debating picking up a Kidd action and this KRG now.
@Womfat3 жыл бұрын
That makes more sense, I forgot about the Kidd rear screw.
@takinisurvivalchannel38123 жыл бұрын
You can put the kidd rear tang on most any receiver, including the factory Ruger. You just need to mill the rear of the receiver, drill, then countersink. It's quite simple to do, even with just a drill press, but if you're not mechanically inclined, give it to a gunsmith. There are videos and instructions if you search for it, but a real gunsmith wouldn't need any. If you have a mill, rudimentary skills, and some time to kill, you can just make your own tang, but the kidd tang is only 20.00 something bucks. I have bought, and installed two now.

If I can add my 2 cents the KRG is solid when you press down on the barrel but the piece of metal where your main screw goes in just in front of the mag well has some side by side play. Basically your barrel is gonna stay free floated but your action/barrel is going to move a hair left and right. A bit disappointing for a chassis system.

Unfortunately, I had the Oryx on loan from a friend to check out. I did quite like it and between the two, I'd personally go for the Oryx. It's not that the KRG is bad but I prefer the monolithic aluminum design, and I like the forend of the Oryx better as well.

I am looking to do another 10/22 build. After watching your great video I’m even more interested. Was interested in the KRG but now not. Length of pull issue and the sharp stupidity on the trigger bugs me. I think they should have put more thought into it. Can you please give me some suggestions for my next build including stock, barrel and receiver?
@Womfat3 жыл бұрын
Really depends on what you want to do with the rifle. I really like the oryx chassis, and I have a Titan that I'm quite fond of. I personally only have experience with the Dlask and Grey Birch Solutions receivers apart from the OEM Ruger, and really liked both. Barrel greatly depends on what you're building it for.

Thanks for the quick reply! My build will be for accuracy and I’m starting to have second thoughts and may get another CZ as I have a bunch all ready as well as 10/22’s. The 10/22’s are just so much fun to build. But your Cz 457 build kind of changed my thinking. I have 2 Kidd builds and a couple Frankenstein builds. I have Vudoo too but it weighs a ton!
