Not necessarily true ,Hunters in England and Ireland use greyhounds non racing dogs to catch fox X rabbits x hares in the wild .I know of one who caught 80 rabbits in one night lamping them using a greyhound .Their reflexes get sharper the more you hunt them on wild running game .I saw one kill foxes at full speed with one snap They break their spine ,and when they miss you can hear their teeth snap together .

That’s absurd. Only one land animal can run 60 mph and that is the cheetah. Neither can run non-stop for 10 miles but the greyhound would go much further than the cheetah. Greyhounds are sprinters not long distance runners. The Saluki is the domestic champion long distance runner in the canine world while the African Wild dog is the champion long distance runner in the wild canids.

I love both animals but however, thre is so much misinformation here . Top recorded speed of a cheetah is 75 mph but in the wild their they are known to max at 60 mph on average, and don't forget that some types of cheetahs max at 45 mph . Also, funny enough there has been some grey hounds which recorded speeds upto 55 mph, although critics consider it abnormal and not standard for the breed. But 45 miles per is the top speed they accept for a grey hound. They can outrun a cheetah if Sprinting over longer distance or if the cheetah belong to the slower types. There was a sad case in Africa when a Turkish Kangal Shepherd dog caught a cheetah and faught and killed it. This shows that dogs do have endurance that could allow them to catch a cheetah even if it means relying solely on scent to track it, they can still do it. Most people dont know this, but a human could beat a cheetah in a 10 mile race, but we would be outran by the grey hound like this: Greyhound - 1st Human - 2nd Cheetah - 3rd Here is the reason: The cheetah would obviously bolt at the beginning much faster than the others, getting a great lead, but it would slowly begin to stop running after a minute or two, because of the low stamina from running 70 mph. The Human is second, because not many know this, Humans have the number five best stamina for a marathon (being beaten by the Alaskan sled dog, camel, ostrich, or pronghorn antelope.) And number two best stamina for 1000 miles only being beaten by the Alaskan sled dog! This would slowly give us an advantage at the middle of the race and toward the end. Greyhound would be first, because of its consistency of running plus its speed. These beasts are bred for long distance racing. So I guess in all, y'all need to get your facts right.
