Wow. I’m crying. it’s so sad and heartbreaking that every good couple on grey’s had to break up in such a horrible way because of the writers. JOLEX WAS ENDGAME. they both fell in love with each other after they thought they will never believe in love again. They had such an amazing love story and their chemistry was so strong. It makes me beyond mad that after everything they’ve been through they had to split in the worst way ever. they got married TWICE when the last time was only this season!! come on. they had so many chances to break up but they still chose to be together because they LOVE each other. THEY ARE SOULMATES. alex would never do this to jo. He changed because of her. Why did we have to watch all of his character development just for him to come back to the beginning? it makes absolutely no sense. I’m so disappointed from the poor writing. Jolex deserved better than this.

I was and still am a jolex shipper, I loved their love story and as alex I wish this could have had an other outcome but this all makes perfect sens. He never got over izzie he never stopped loving her we all knew that (they basically drop hints of that through the seasons). He never got a happy childhood and it makes perfect sens that he just couldn't not be there for his kids while he had no father himself. As for the letter it's explained in it : his feelings for jo didn't vanish he truely loves her and knows it would be almost impossible To leave if he saw her or hell even heard her voice but he has to stand by his decision. I probably would have prefer for him never To leave but since the actor had to go, that ending is actually only fair for Alex (much more than dying). And it doesn't betraye the character or his developpement he KNOWS what he's doing is awefull he just doesn't really have a choice...
