You mean you don’t love paying for something, filling out endless forms, sending $200 + your finger prints + one of your testicles to the government, waiting some indefinite amount of time for the ATF to approve your suppressor purchase, fill out another form to inform your local CLEO that you are to receive a suppressor, wait even longer due to mandatory wait period, then have it transferred to your FFL, then finally have you able to go pick it up, all of which can take several months at a time? You mean you don’t LOVE how absurd all that is for us law abiding citizens?? 😀 Lol yeah, me neither. Just purchased my first can ever and getting a first hand taste of how ridiculous the whole process is.

That means a lot and I’m glad it’s been noticed. I go to great lengths to prevent mic peaking, and while the true volume of sound pressure can never be recorded and replayed, the tone can be captured and that’s what I strive to do. Thanks for watching!

I am so close to pulling the trigger on my first suppressor. I've decided on either Dual Lok 5 or the Dual Lok HRT primarily for the dual lok QD mount. I'm leaning heavily towards the HRT but have yet to see any info outside of Griffin's introduction video. I'd love to see a review on the HRT while mine is sitting in jail though. More sick suppresors from Griffin Armament.

I was stuck like you man, I bought the DL7 and HRT. DL5 and HRT are only 1db difference and it's in 16" there the same on 10.5. hrt is bomb proff with less flash (I'm le so perfect) the DL5 is less blowback and weight. I just got mine in today and will be ordering the HRT 762 and another DL 7. Skipping the DL5 unless they drop in price since there is nothing the DL 5 can't do that the DL7 doesn't plus run 30cal. All I need now is a DL 36 cal bore and be set

Man I may “need” the 5 Eta:is somewhat similar to the rugged cans in terms of mounting and similar to the razor in terms of size, weight etc. that said, this review makes it look wayyy better in terms of sound

Obviously this is a much better can than a surefire that stopped innovating their suppressor lineup but how did this compare to the Helios QD and QD Ti in your opinion? I like the look of this can. Don’t love the proprietary mount but this will live on one rifle anyways. Can you show us what an eco flow baffle looks like? Anyways cool video! Thank you for the review. I’ve been waiting for these.

Any differences between Griffin Dual LOK HRT 556 and Dual LOK 5? HRT is just a little cheaper, but paper performance is listed the same. Thoughts?

Griffin said the HRT has better flash suppression and is built for more hard use. Hence the weight difference. However, the DL5 is a few oz lighter, a couple of db quieter, and has slits for more flow through.

The dual LOK 5 is the explorr (tubeless) version The HRT is the recce 5 (tube) version The HRT is better suited for heavier SBR use, while the dual lok 5's lighter weight suits 14.5"+ rifles better

Super underrated channel. Gotta ask: what length BCM handguard + gas system for the 11.5" upper? I'm looking to kit out an SBR upper with a Riflespeed gas block and you got the lengths nailed down.

Comparable at a slightly weight penalty The explorr outperforms DL5 on sound but the DL5 will beat the explorr on flash suppression, which is a big deal on 11.5 for night shooting The HRT will be even better at flash suppression I would pick the HRT if it's a fighting rifle and pick explorr to save weight on a plinker The DL5 is more for a 12.5-16"+ rifle

If you plan to run a bolt gun, the Explorr series is the way to go. They do generate more back pressure than the HRT series (or whichever ones have the end cap with the slit ports around the perimeter) but this is irrelevant for a bolt gun and the better flow restriction gives it the nod for this use case.

Got a turbo k in jail right now…. And I’m contemplating getting a turbo t2 🤔🥺 just because I love my conjugal visits…. It’s such a good bang for your buck and relatively affordable to performance ratio…. Yeah They’re gassy, but durable, and not the best mounting QD system, but they suppress very well just like most competitive options in the $500-$800 range.

@@joquin4618 quite gassy is right, have tried it on a Geissele 11.5 with Bootleg adjustable BCG and it was overpowering. Then on a Wolf A1 12.5 piston upper...just a tiny bit better. Now on a BA 13.9 w/ bootleg BCG, etc and it's right at the limit of acceptable. But as you point out...the price is right. One of these months I'm gonna try one of the huxxwerks (formerly OSS) cans and see how those really perform. I just really wish barrel manufacturers would bring down their port sizes. God knows if it's under gassed we can always open it up, but a port that's too big means wasted time, money, and energy.

@@fullm3taljacket they won’t do this because then they will get a reputation of poor reliability which hurts sales. Best bet it to tune the buffer system first then if still needed add a enhanced carrier. If you really want to shoot between unsuppressed and suppressed a piston gun will be better all around than any DI gun. Otherwise you’re stuck with an adjustable gas block which I’m not a huge fan of because of moving tiny parts, erosion over time etc

Your mount has threads in front of the taper as the Dual-lok threads are behind and the threads are different. Part of the mount is integral to the suppressor and can't be changed so you would have to change your muzzle device.

You do know that the BCG vents gas right? When someone says “no gas to the face” they are referring to the lack of high pressure gas jetting into the nose and eyes. What you are seeing is smoke.

The gas is not bad, the angle and velocity keep it out of your face. There are not much better cans for gas blowback.
