The Griffin by Paragon!
What an amazing bow. Closest to what is called Hungarian Bow, according to the Hungarian Bow Foundation.
Robert did an excellent job with this bow. It’s a performer and a beauty. Thank you for sending one to me.

The greenish tone looks cool and premium. Robert does justice with the Bow he makes. Not every Bow is favorable for beginners, one has to earn skill with practice so that one can enjoy the next level. So this Bow Bow is next level Bow. Such Bows need to be synced with the Archer, then Archer enjoy with them and perfomance comes. Hungarian Bows are not meant for speed, but emphasised more on stability and accuracy and Griffin is perfect design of Hungarian Short Bow Very well done Robert and Thank you very much Armin for such a minutely detailed review.. when good Bow is there , even reviews takes deep interest... even in distraction, Armin kept to describing ...Kudos 👍👍👍👍👍

Genuine reactions, researched information, experienced observation and reflection, focus through distractions, and learned technique combined with the amazing bow and appreciation for the bowyer all make this one of my favorite of your reviews thus far. 🙇🏻‍♂️🏹

Weight on the siyahs is not wasted, When the string is released, the bow wants to return to its unstrung shape, stopped only by the string. Any mass in the limbs and siyahs will get accelerated and then will keep going past the point that the string stops it, more-so when the siyahs have more mass. You are choosing between raw initial speed which is great for light arrows when you have light siyahs, with slower acceleration and a bigger kick at the end which helps heavier arrows fly faster when you have massive siyahs...
@0ooTheMAXXoo0
@0ooTheMAXXoo0 Жыл бұрын
Look at Armin's review video for the AF Crab bow. One can clearly see the massive ears spring further forward than braced position when shooting the bow. In my experience with that crab bow, heavy arrows fly almost as fast as 9gpp arrows. It looks and feels eery, surprising and fun to feel the weight of the arrow and then it still flies fast, almost as fast as the lighter arrow I just shot a second ago... The heavier the arrow, the more of the bow mass will be useful instead of wasted into shocking the bow itself.
@jkre
@jkre Жыл бұрын
That is not how bows work, sorry, but no. Heavy siyahs are never, repeat never, a good thing. Because, a bow stores an amount x of energy, that energy is shared to move the limbs and siyahs, the string and the arrow. The heavier the limbs and or siyahs are, the more of that energy x is used to move them, so less energy is left for the arrow and string, also minimizing the string mass, leaves more energy to arrow just like minimizing the limb/siyah mass does. I'm a bowyer, and bow making first rule is, minimize the moving mass to get speed, that is true, no matter the arrow weight. If there is 2 identical bows but other ones have heavier siyahs, that bow will always be slower, no matter the arrow weight, light or heavy.

@@0ooTheMAXXoo0 the reason why a bow with heavy siyahs is nearly as fast (if you can call it fast) with heavy arrows as light, is not because it throws heavy arrows fast (witch it doesn't), it is because it throws light arrows slow. Bows have certain dry speed, the potential maximum speed, and the heavier the siyahs are, the slower that dry speed is. Light arrows are closer to that dry speed than heavy arrows, so heavy siyahs effect is more visible on light arrows for that reason. But also heavy arrows fly faster on bows with light siyahs than from heavy siyahs bows, but the speed difference is more noticeable with light arrows. This difference between light and heavy arrow speeds is greater on bows with contact siyahs, like the crab bow you mentioned. Contact siyah bows store more energy than non contact bows and they do that by having higher early draw weight. High early draw weight helps especially when shooting heavy arrows, cus light arrows reash the speed much faster, so it is not as much needed with light arrows to have that higher energy at the end of the power stroke as it is with heavy arrows that accelerate slower and thus benefit from the energy at the end more because they are not as close to the dry speed at that point as light arrows are. But light arrows do also benefit from it, but since they are closer to dry speed, there is not as much potential speed left as there is with heavy arrows. And this also does not mean that contact siyahs are always faster than non contact ones, they do store more energy, but if non contact ones are lighter, then they use less energy to move them selves, so more is left to the arrow and it's faster even though it has less potential energy stored.

It would be interesting if you would measure the reflex of the unstrung bow, string knock to string knock to the back of the grip. Then give a comparison to other Asian bows more or less than average.

The Green Hornet!! Beautiful, over the top bow, wow. Gorgeous curves, great sound. Enjoy that one Armin. The dichotomy between you with your bow quietly and mindfully going about your business and the mindless ones booming away was quite striking. This was like watching a microcosm of life on earth these past three years. Wow. Thanks Armin for a great video and Paragon for a magnificent bow.

What a pretty bow! Robert's craftsmanship is impeccable! I really like the design. If it performs as good as his Khan it's a great bow. I do like the fact that it's not a wiggly bow like my asymmetrical hun bow. And Robert is excellent to do business with. Thanks for another great review as usual!
